Baustelle La malavita
Voto:
This was the first album by Baustelle that I listened to (still very little, to be honest), and I have to say that I quite liked it. I don't know if it will stand the test of time... In reality, the initial impact wasn't good; I listened to the first three tracks after eight hours of work, and hearing about a suicidal person and a veteran of a psychiatric ward (that's the backstory of 'Sergio', just to... and the raven Joe is truly a raven, even though it can actually stand as a symbol of an off dandy) left me feeling disheartened and depressed... then I stopped doing the eight-hour shifts, and the LP started to grow on me, now free from mental ruminations: 'I provinciali' is very beautiful, very Italian Pulp they are, anyway a remarkable band...

...in fact, there are also promos that are given to journalists a few days or weeks before the official release, which they then sell to record stores, so, for example, in London it is relatively easy to find the promos and possibly put them online...

michi, just a note, for the sake of precision and in case you misunderstood (if not, I'm sorry): AR (Anonima Recensori) is the name given to all the reviews received (that is) anonymously, without a nickname, uncredited... just that.

The (musical) revolution was, is, and always will be (I believe)... if you don't see it, it's because you're not looking hard enough, or because what is revolutionary today (while acknowledging that no one is immune from influences of any kind, even the most original artists of the '60s-'70s, the '30s, the 1700s, etc.) doesn't appeal to you and you snub it...

Stunning! And purchased at the modest price of 11,000 lire... anyway, the 'heaviest' part for me is Tyner's spoken intro... they were tougher than the Stooges, less sick (at least on this record, which is the only one I have of theirs); another note, 'starship', for those who don't already know, is a cover of a piece by Sun Ra.
Aztec Camera High Land, Hard Rain

Alright, tomorrow I'll post some sempols, maybe they'll convey the idea... in fact, I tried listening to later stuff by Aztec Camera, but it seems to me that they went in fits and starts, a few nice songs amidst a collection of not very high quality... this record is better... another story for a splendid album by Roddy Frame that I got a while ago: it's called 'surf', for me it's an intimate gem....

But then why do people apologize for puns??? What's wrong with them? Okay, you called yours really ugly, but that could mean a different form of beauty, so by apologizing you might simultaneously offend those who liked it... and on and on with the rambling!

Hey there, this conversation has taken a turn for the worse ;) regarding the ugly: ugly understood as deformed, monstrous, with an alien shape, which can mean (like in my case) a different kind of beauty... and on and on with the rambling!
