Hey, this whole story about the Pixies being plagiarized by Nirvana is a bit of an obsession... just to clarify: it’s probably true that some riffs from Nirvana are pretty much identical to those of certain Pixies tracks, but it's equally clear that the perspective is entirely different; to give a somewhat silly example (:p): Duchamp's 'Mona Lisa with Mustache' is, in fact, the same as the Mona Lisa except for the addition of a couple of mustaches but, obviously, it’s a totally different perspective (of being playful and not just...)... another example: you won’t believe it, but tons of rap and electronic tracks use entire pieces sampled from other songs, meaning the originals, not their copies!!! (ari-:p) is it perhaps plagiarism-in-the-worst-sense-of-th e-term??? Well, did I sound bitter? If so, I apologize; I actually wrote this all with a smile on my face (I overdid it with the LSD).
