Raf Sogni... è tutto quello che c'è

By the way, every time I think of the good Tozzi, an exemplary episode of a cultural clash pushed to the extreme comes to mind... One New Year’s Eve a few years ago, Umberto arrived at a venue in the outskirts of Naples for a big celebration; it so happened (as is often the case, given the vast success that house music enjoys among the young, gritty guys from the Campanian suburbs) that there was also a house party planned nearby. After his performance, a dark car, with the good Tozzi and his henchmen inside, began to force its way through the crowd of ultra-drugged youngsters waiting to enter the nightclub; alas, one of them collapsed, and many started calling for help from the black car. Insensitive to such requests, it continued to honk and accelerate to leave abruptly... now: 1) it's not advisable to go against the young, gritty guys from the suburbs 2) it’s even worse to do so when you’re morally in the wrong, provoking the crowd against yourself 3) it’s a terrible situation if the aggression and athleticism are further heightened by pills-cocaine-and-other-stuff... moral: the bouncers got out of the car, determined to assert their authority, but found themselves in a wedding of punches without an invitation; the kids turned on the car, ending up ripping off a couple of doors, and seeing the bad situation unfold, the good Umberto decided to take advantage of a moment of opportunity to escape on foot with his briefcase full of cash... the scene ended with my witness (with a vaguely ape-like silhouette) rallying the youth with the cry: "O' biond! Acchiappat 'o biond! Ten' i Caravagg' nd'a valigg'!"

Oh yeah, not bad... but you can't drop the ball on these things! Sanremo was won with the legendary 'Si può dare di più' with Ruggeri and Tozzi, what a trio of giants! He also won the Eurovision with 'Gente di mare', right? (still with Tozzi)...

mmm... I've already expressed my opinion on Vasco, but I feel the urge to chime in on this issue of songs in commercials: silverblasco, you say there's no longer a need to ask the author for permission to do it; I have my serious doubts... It may be that in some rather 'slave-like' contracts from major record labels this option is included today, but an artist with the commercial and contractual weight of a Vasco Rossi could have easily stood his ground and told everyone to go screw themselves (or threatened to do so): he wouldn't have ended up on the street and, I have the impression, he would have won the battle... at worst, the one getting screwed in such a situation would be the first idiot who signs with a major, has little contractual power, and doesn't realize the constraints he's being asked to comply with—not Vasco, though...

maybe 'picture book'... I confirm, I checked and the song is 'money's too tight (to mention)', really great track, but the LP was nice overall.

in fact, punisher, we should also take down Al Bano and Romina and Toto Cutugno...

Put the sempols... feeling like this doesn’t even seem like such a hardship: I've always thought that Ubu entertainment should do a piece and get off the stage...

mmm... I don't know, I once visited the old Ubu site and that one was a bit tricky too... I saw the one you mentioned and it seems more 'straightforward'... anyway, I vote for the review I just read now ;)

Eh, I'm listening to it again... damn, almost as unbearable as the supposed Oxbow imitators, another 'unpleasant' band... yeah Bleak, I recommend the albums with Two Pale Boys (I don't have any other solo work of Thomas): they're quite 'cohesive', like different books that pick up where the previous one left off, maybe I'd recommend the first one, 'Erewhon', but it's similar with the others too...

Well, maybe I'll add the sempols myself… but this album seems quite below 'modern dance', I'll give it another listen for good measure… zzz, anyway, if you find them unbearable (but xiu xiu are quite a workout, huh…) there are the solo LPs of David Thomas with Two Pale Boys, which are much more 'catchy' ('ansomma), singer-songwriter stuff with his crazy high-pitched voice and super affected trumpet and guitar creating an amniotic-dreamy-slightly-sick sound…
