I am adding an excerpt from an article I read online: Mark Lanegan of Screaming Trees cleared of drug possession charges.
Mark Lanegan, the singer of Screaming Trees, has been cleared of heavy drug possession charges by the San Francisco police.
Lanegan was arrested by the police on March 27, 1997, in Tenderloin, a notorious area of the city, on suspicion that the singer was hiding crack cocaine.
The singer was seen purchasing a suspicious substance from a man, one Robert Miles (no connection to the Italian musician!), and shortly thereafter hiding it under a brick.
Lanegan was represented by attorney Michael Stephani, who during the Sixties had defended the Grateful Dead in court. :-))))
