Dream Theater Octavarium

But for heaven's sake, this album is a monstrous piece of crap. Only a few tracks are worth saving.

Boring and pointless riffs? Just for the sake of it? Stone him.

In my opinion, the masterpieces of Sabbath are up until Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, but this album, like the following Heaven And Hell, is certainly of very high quality. I don't understand those who criticize Ozzy's voice, especially since after he left, apart from Heaven And Hell, nothing has come close to the previous works: Sabbath cannot exist without Ozzy, just as they could never exist without Iommi, or for that matter, any other member. They were a perfect machine. Unforgettable riffs, songs that are simply part of the history of hard rock/metal. The review doesn't seem very clear-headed to me.

Well, it's certainly not the best album from the band, but I believe it's still a 4/5 record: there are very interesting experiments, and evidently very poorly understood ones (music must change, guitar and pen, love is coming down) and epic rock tracks perfectly done in their style (new song, rick of the light) and the beautiful 905. Had Enough and Sister Disco are forgettable episodes and I would say half missteps, but in the end they are pleasant and enjoyable to listen to. In short, it may not be at the level of the best albums (but how could it have been possible?) but this album contains very interesting things that showcase Townshend's extraordinary songwriting talent, which even when he feels demotivated and empty, he composes high-level works. A very experimental record, contrary to what many - who evidently haven’t listened to the album very well - say. Who Are You is simply legendary!

Let's say that technically they are frightening, but on a creative level they have always been very awkward: aside from the famous Images And Words, Awake, and Scenes From A Memory, the other albums are a continuous recycling of their own and others' garbage, with a few exceptions. Octavarium, then, is terrible, not to mention Systematic Chaos, indecent. In my opinion, this album is very inconsistent, ultimately bad, however Hell's Kitchen is truly a masterpiece of progressive metal. Personally, I also find Take Away My Pain very beautiful.

I hate it. I like 4-5 songs by Battiato. The cover of Hey Joe is just awful.

Certo! Inviami il testo che desideri tradurre e provvederò a farlo.

I didn't like it very much.. The comparison with Burton's films just doesn't hold up. However, I agree on the recovery of the dark atmospheres. The episodes signed by Joel Schumacher are too cartoonish for my tastes, and perhaps that's why they lacked the appeal of the first two episodes, which were much more complex, especially in the characterizations, Batman-Bruce first and foremost, but also Joker, Catwoman, Penguin, all "human" characters, not flat, one-dimensional comic book figures. Very clear and smooth review.

Well, for a Who maniac like me, the very fact that they released a new album in 2006 (that is, 40 plus years after their debut) is already something miraculous in itself. The final result is excellent, especially considering that time passes for everyone. Confronting a rock work isn't exactly the simplest thing, especially today... Only the Who could have the guts to do it.
