"I would never want to belong to a club that would have someone like me as a member." (Woody Allen) ---> To be honest, the joke isn’t by Woody Allen; he himself attributes it to Groucho Marx at the beginning of "Annie Hall." And it is slightly different: "I wouldn’t want to belong to a club that would accept someone like me as a member." Yes, I know, I’m a pain in the neck...

If this is the series with the guy who tattooed the prison layout on his chest, I've seen an episode or maybe two... I don't know, it seems like bullshit to me... Among the coolest American series, I mention "Sons of Anarchy," although I don't know if it's been aired in Italy yet...

"...there being no point of comparison for the work in question." --> Well, if you want, there are sopranists or countertenors. A sopranist from my area, named Angelo Manzotti, known as "the new Farinelli," has developed a very personal technique that allows him to sing soprano arias in full voice, not in falsetto... Strange, strange...

I haven't read this one... I agree with Bartle: Coe goes over the top with the plot, the twists, etc... but for some reason, we forgive him: the ending of "La famiglia Winshaw," quite predictable by the way, is pretty disappointing, but up until then, it's a nice book. Coe's best novel is "la banda dei brocchi," a must for anyone who loves certain Canterbury groups (the title is taken straight from a record by Hatfield and the North), but Coe wanted to write a sequel, "Circolo Chiuso," and of course, he went over the top: Benjamin, the eternal promise of English music and literature, really got on my nerves, yet the story of the English troops being sent to Iraq is phenomenal. In short, ups and downs. You get excited by the highs and you forgive the lows...

Come on, Cpt, Vortex, and Fiquata are not entirely wrong. :-) In particular, my comment no. 94 is a bit of a mess. Reacting like that over something trivial... I apologize...

SHermanoak "dumb and dumber" you do it with the first of your relatives or friends who happens to be in your sights. I already said goodbye for the last time, which means I am out of the discussion. Therefore, please do not contact me anymore nor mention me on this or any other page. Thank you.

Shermanoaks: "better to insult and say things as they are, etc..." No, no, rather: better to acknowledge a FACT when you see it without making it less unpleasant by resorting to mental gymnastics: My (alleged) beautiful soul and I did not need any grand proclamations. Pantani found himself in that situation and reacted that way. Two days later he was disqualified. Period. If instead of Lucci there had been Bulbarelli, or maybe Gruber, Gabibbo, or my Aunt Sempronia, the matter wouldn't change one bit and the trial against Juventus, just to change the subject, has nothing to do with it... I greet you for the last time. Bye.
