Yes Kosmo, the image is beautiful because the gesture is magnificent (worthy of a monument: link rotto It’s fine to tell that gesture in a movie or in an autobiography (Smith even sells that on his website). It’s also okay to sell copies of the photo... But the tea cup, come on... :-)

I don't know how relevant this is, but I just found out that on Tommie Smith's website (http://www.tommiesmith.com/shop.html), you can buy a copy of another very famous photo (http://www.grandstandsports.com/images/22408.jpg). Depending on the size, the price ranges from $25 to $100. If you want to see Tommie Smith and John Carlos raising their arms and hands with the black gloves while you have breakfast, there's also a mug with the photo on it ($15). There are also sneakers signed by Smith for sale. Depending on the model, these shoes cost $300, $350, or $475. Fight The Power!

True, Hackett is always a young man, but I've never liked him on his own. Tony Banks is a nice gray-haired gentleman, Michael Rutherford reminds me of Goofy, while Peter Gabriel looks like Paulo Coelho wearing Obi Wan Kenobi's robe.
