I don't know, I don't like reviewing two albums by the same band... I only did it for Henry Cow-Slapp Happy, but those were two bands and it all makes sense... I also reviewed an album by John Renbourn... I like all the Pentangles albums up until John's departure. Why don't you think about reviewing "Cruel Sister"?:-)

But look, I don't get notifications for comments on this page, I come back by chance and find a comment from Davejonecc... So DavejonguilmourArnoldLayne, I didn't respond to Bjork in a cryptic or cheeky way, in fact, she understood perfectly. You didn’t understand a thing simply because you can't grasp it. Is it clearer now?

Bjork, both the records of madredeus and those of Dulce are easily traceable. As for the sadness of fado, it’s true, fado is sad, but some of Dulce's songs are extraordinarily fun. That's also why she’s my favorite. Live, she is phenomenal. Bye. :)

In the newsstand, I didn't see all the CDs of Dulce Pontes, only "O primeiro canto," alas. And I can't even tell you which series it was part of. In fact, I believe it wasn't part of any series at all... But I wouldn't want to say silly things... What I'm sure of is that the cover was different from the original. And the price... I'm sorry I can't be more precise...

@psychopompe: Didn't you write a "nostalgic" thesis? Look at that, and I thought that right in the middle of the discussion you had jumped on the desk and shouted: "SPACE HALBERD!!!" :-). I was referring to a post of yours on my page (the one about "Atlas ufo robot", precisely) where you mentioned feeling such nostalgia for Japanese cartoons that you included them in your thesis. Anyway, we are not in university here, and I can see from your last post regarding "the subjective" that we understood each other perfectly. Cheers. :-)

@Psycho: but you're not the one who wrote a thesis on Goldrake and Mazinga, are you? Don't tell me you notice the flaws in "The Goonies" but not in the Japanese cartoons? :) @Poletti: it's better to have a well-argued viewpoint from a community center than a hasty, unsubstantiated judgment. All you do is say what you think is a masterpiece and what isn’t, without ever delving deeper... In your latest review on Orson Welles, I also read expressions like "pure masterpiece" or "inhuman masterpiece": a prose more worthy of Fantozzi than a critic. @Vellutogrigio: great review, I just want to add the Cyndi Lauper song that was the soundtrack: "Goonies 'r' good enough" (or something like that...).

I was sure you would write this review sooner or later, Grass. :) Thanks also for the link (which doesn't work though :-)). By the way, I notice that you also have a (good-natured) grudge against Carlos Maria Trindade... Beautiful review, nothing to add, just one thing: I don't believe that "O primeiro..." is superior (even though you say "perhaps" and "just by a hair") to "Caminhos". "Caminhos" is characterized by the blending of modern and traditional sounds. Here, the scale tips more towards tradition. In "Lagrimas", it leaned towards modernity instead. Let's say that "Caminhos" is a transitional episode between "Lagrimas" and "O primeiro canto". But it's a transition related to sound, not to the quality of the compositions... If only there were "Transitory" episodes as beautiful as this one... As for Dulce's discography, I wasn't satisfied with her collaboration with Morricone. I don't know, it just didn't resonate with me... Lastly, it has nothing to do with anything but let me say that it's a mystery to me how you can like Loreena McKennitt. :) I take this opportunity to share a link to a video where Dulce sings "Ondeja" (https://www.debaser.it/main/Video.aspx?y=_pzQSkZwBjE&mode=related&search=) and I say goodbye. Bye.:)

Ah, does Pistolini really talk about it too (aside from her name)? Well, I'll tell you, I only read it on the Frederick's site and on the link, which is fascinating, of the more-info. I really liked it a lot, but I wasn't 100% (let's say I was 99.9%) sure of its authenticity... And tomorrow I'm rushing to the bookstore.
