Jim, for convenience I'm quoting Pi.Per: "For some time now, the cinema section has been introduced, which currently occupies 50% of the homepage space. Considering that lately about ten new acoustic reviews are published daily, compared to 2-3 ocular reviews, it's clear that 50% of the homepage space is cramped for music."

Good morning to you too, Pi.Per. I know very well that we are not the ones making the rules, and I don't want to teach the editors their job. But here we are faced with an evident paradox. When the division between acoustic and visual reviews was requested, the editors obliged the requesters, but that division was done poorly. Here, the informative function of the site risks being compromised in favor of the usual discussions among aspiring critics, which I personally find dead boring. That being said, I also don't want to embark on a crusade, so I will stop here as well. Bye.

I quote Pi.Per. (by the way, do you remember me? I'm one of the usual good-hearted ones). My last review also stayed on the homepage for a few hours. This review of "nuovo cinema paradiso" will remain on the homepage for a few more days. Now, putting aside my review for obvious reasons and with all due respect and sympathy for Stipe, I ask you: should this review of an old and boring film by an old and boring director have more visibility, or should Pi.Per.'s review of the latest album by the young, very talented singer Joanna Newsom? I would opt for the second hypothesis...

True Bjorky and Tiny, the homepage is in serious condition... But it’s also true that over time it has undergone many changes, and so I hope the editors realize that some small adjustments are urgently needed. For example, music reviews could be separated from eye-related ones, and when I say separate, I mean really separate: two pages. On one, the music reviews; on the other, the eye reviews. While waiting for better times, I reiterate: sign up for the newsletter. It’s the only way to stay informed about what is published daily on the site. The "awards" for users, Tiny, already exist. There are rankings of the most liked and most voted reviews, and those of the most liked and most voted albums. Even the gems from the past are in order... Furthermore, let’s remember (I include myself here) that reviews can be recommended. By the way, I forgot a ranking: that of the most recommended ones indeed... For what it’s worth, I still approve of your interesting proposals. We’ll see if the editors will do the same... I do not, however, agree on the eye-related reviews. In some cases, some interesting titles have surfaced. Then, recently, I discovered a review of "25th Hour" by Spike Lee published two years ago... So "musical vocation," yes, but no preconceived notions... Of course, often these pages turn into dreadfully boring verbal clashes among users who wanted to be Morandini or Mereghetti, but this often happens in the music realm as well... Here, there are still not many reviews of "fresh off the press" films, but who knows, maybe one day the trend will change... As for the poet and Laurafiesolana, I took a look at Rainer's latest comment. He was complaining because it’s been a while since Sfascia Carrozze last wrote... I don’t think he has left the site permanently. He probably took a vacation... Maybe together with Laura. :-)

I also liked "Ys"... Nice Joanna... too bad she always dresses like a Tyrolean...

Regarding Tornatore, I have already expressed my opinion in the review of "The Legend of the Pianist on the Ocean." This film can only be a drag for me... And with "The Legend..." that makes two drags...

Well, tiny, what can I say... After discovering so much talent, one ends up not knowing John Lennon. :-)

Eh bjorky, these days you have to be quick... But do one thing, subscribe to the newsletter so you'll be updated on all the reviews published on the site, and you won't risk missing something interesting while you're busy doing something else... How strange, a little phrase comes to mind that I once heard in a movie. It said: "Life is what happens while you're busy doing other things...". The movie was "poliziotto in blue jeans". From that film, I remember that line and Mila Jojovich... Ah, how nice it is to curate memories...

Imagine, Tinybanks, it was a pleasure. :-) When I posted this review, I wrote "Mozart" in the author space... The correction is from the editors, but I don't think they did wrong... After all, the album is by Mullova... Since we also talked about Conlon Nancarrow here, I want to point out that I wrote a little page about him... I included a bunch of samples... Give them a listen, maybe you'll like them. Bye. :-)
