Hawkwind Warrior On The Edge Of Time
Voto:
Welcome back, Green... great page as always. - In my opinion, this album is among the best by Hawkwind. Following the trend already present in "Hall Of The Mountain Grill," it partially abandons the obsessive atmospheres of previous works ("In Search Of Space," "Doremi...") to explore more refined and structured paths. "Assault & Battery/Into The Void" is my favorite track from their entire discography. "The Demented Man" and "Spiral Galaxy" are also wonderful. - The rating is between 4 and 5 stars... I round up.

Review 'river' for a great band… which, unfortunately, I know too little about!

A definitely enjoyable and inspired album: diverse, well-played, and well-produced. Together with "Trust," it is probably the best among their albums from the post-'classical period' ('78-'85)... I would say it ranks among the most successful in their vast discography.

Yes, actually "Conquest" isn't too bad... Sloman, for me (and unlike common opinion), is a good singer: the point is, perhaps, that he wasn't the right voice for the band. "Abominog," which I reviewed quite some time ago (a rather poor review... it was maybe the second one I wrote for the site), in my opinion is much better. - As for getting back to writing something, I wouldn't know. It's been a while since I've had that 'right' motivation to put down a noteworthy page. We'll see later on...

@Fede: all good, thank you so much! Recently, I've been lurking a bit less on DeBaser, but I still want to maintain a discretely active presence, with at least a couple of comments a week. - Since you like Heep (and it's clear), and there are still a few albums left to review, why don't you do a 'full immersion' review session? Or at most, alternate with something else in between albums...

Having read the review: I fully agree. The line-up with Lanzon and Shaw, after two albums of settling in ("Raging Silence" and "Different Worlds"), has produced some truly remarkable albums. Their 'gestation' is always very long, but the wait is consistently rewarded.

It sounds very interesting... by the way, "Darkness On The Edge Of Town" is one of my favorite albums by the Boss. If this collection has the same sound, I will definitely like it!

After some falls (true abysses...) in style, they are starting to regain the inspiration of old times. Not at the top yet, but they were coming back: since 2000, they have released several albums that can easily compete with their best past productions.
Dire Straits On Every Street
Voto:
In my opinion, this "On Every Street" is a decidedly underrated album. Of course, it doesn't reach the heights of the best Dire Straits, but there are plenty of gems that justify buying the album: among them, the title track and "Heavy Fuel" stand out. "Calling Elvis" and "Planet Of New Orleans" are great as well.
