Maybe for some it might be an exaggeration to call it the best album by Nello il Giovane.. but it is certainly one of the most honest records released in the last twenty years, music without blemishes and overdubs, recorded live, and even the Cavalli Pazzi are not kids born yesterday.. just this deserves top marks!!!

But is it still a work published by Coconino?

Nice review Matteo, congratulations, it's very enjoyable to read. Setzer's guitar has practically revolutionized the way I understand it, after years of listening to outdated stuff between Clapton and his gang..I've never seen him live, unfortunately. I hear he doesn't shine like he used to, also because of his illness..but he remains truly unmatched..jazz, rock, swing like few others!!

I've read all the books three times... I've seen the Swedish film and, although it was clumsy in its interpretation, it was faithful to the first chapter... I haven't seen this latest American version because I don't like American remakes... you know, the "we're cooler" kind... and I don't think I will watch it... too much media attention, too many headlines in glossy magazines about the actress's fake punk look... America is increasingly revealing itself to be lacking in ideas and vigor...

I completely share your review... I bought the album, despite the many disappointments after "Ok Computer," I remained faithful to my idea of buying all their records. Result: listened to it once and left to gather dust... I wonder why the Buddy Holly collection, even though I've heard it a thousand times, doesn’t have the same effect on me... I then share this because, as often happens in Italy, they’ve become untouchable for some... never speak ill of them, they have the gift of making you feel ignorant... well, now we are two (but I see that many feel the same way) and so to these so-called music sages goes my most sincere... FUCK YOU!!!

Irreplaceable... one of the very few true realities in Italy... I had the honor, with my group Miami & The Groovers, to host Marino in the song "When the tears are falling down"... which, by the way, has excellent pronunciation... and we played together with them in Rimini, at the Centro Sociale Grottarossa... an evening I still cherish, with them you understand the magnitude and strength of rock'n'roll... the importance of words, the honesty of intentions... I remember that at the table, before the concert, Marino emphasized the importance of the honesty that unites all bands, whether you're talking about Springsteen or a ragtag band... the fight goes on... now and always. Thank you Gnagnera for sharing the significance of this band!

Wonderful review, as usual on these occasions there’s a sort of "vulturing" that starts from Porta a Porta on general TV (with the usual and laconic "great Lucio" and the subsequent standing ovation from the audience as television rhetoric dictates) but in your case it truly deserves it..

"even if after a while it becomes repetitive" .. a review of a rosewater on one of the monuments of musical history .. treating it with such detachment is quite irritating .. you don’t understand its importance and can't convey the impact this album had during that time .. playing with fire will get you burned .. be careful ..
