Ligabue Nome e Cognome

Flower, I listened to the album and it felt like reheated soup, something I've already heard and thrown together as best as possible, ready for consumption and launch at the Festivalbar. I rely a lot on feelings, and the emotions I experienced listening to Buon compleanno are gone. Some nights I still feel it inside, like a wound, but can you tell me what a trivial song like Happy Hour conveys? And who said you have to follow a singer just because they attract 2,000,000 people? SO, BY YOUR LOGIC, SHOULD I START LISTENING TO PAUSINI, OR RAMAZZOTTI, OR TIZIANO FERRO???!!!!!!

Primiballi, I appreciate your Emilian frankness, which I personally value a lot even though I’m a true Romagnolo. I can attest that in Emilia, there’s still a breath of rock (I know a place near Reggio Emilia, in a small town, called The Cavern, run by a rocker with guts, and how can I not mention the Barricada managed by the legendary Giova, a great friend of the Severini brothers (Gang) and cousin of Graziano Romani), but it seems that Ligabue has really taken the commercial route. On the other hand, his recipe works: straightforward communication, the aura of an experienced rocker that makes the teenage girls swoon, the guitar drawn like a sword against the pain of living, a splash of lambrusco bought at the Iper, and voilà, the product is served. Oh, I almost forgot to tell you, who knows why in Emilia, when I go with my ragtag band to bring a bit of rock'n'roll, they tell me that for them Liga is an asshole and the real rocker remains Graziano Romani. The poor guy lost his band just before Elvis, I don’t know if you remember. And then you tell me that those blessed kids were squeezed like lemons? So you would be saying that Keith Richards would also be squeezed, yet the Stones, thank God, are still around. Sorry, but I don’t agree. A real band must go all the way through, not be used and tossed aside at will. Now Liga is dragging along the little kid and gradually dropping the others. Maybe he’ll do the same with his wife? Yeah, the flashy guitarist brings in more, the others are bald and old... Finally, LIGA, YOU ARE THE BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT THAT AN HONEST ROCKER LIKE ME HAS EVER HAD. FOR ME, YOU CAN GO FUCK YOURSELF... WITHOUT RESENTMENT.

And you call this a review? Two lines to talk about a shitty record made by a Judas. Signed: someone who feels betrayed by Luciano.

Dearest Lazzarone, your review resonates with me on almost all points. Perhaps it’s a bit hasty.. I agree, however, that this album gradually works its way into you. It’s somewhat disorienting, I know, but find me an artist capable of bringing together in one album "Inno alla gioia" and "Moskavalza" or whatever it’s called!! And then try for a moment to mute the "external" voices in your mind and “immerse yourselves” in listening to the track that, in my opinion, remains the masterpiece of the album "SS dei Naufragati". You're right, it’s a substantial album created by an artist who, despite the references to Tenco, Waits, and Conte, is able to reinvent himself and surprise. Yes, because it would have been easy for him to make an album with copycat songs of "Con una rosa" or even "Che coss'è l'amor", kind of like that GIUDA of Ligabue has been doing for four albums now, and don’t tell me that’s not true..

I say, I understand that this is a free review space and that everyone can listen to whatever the hell they want, but I would like to know from Alessia what emotions a piece by the Blue can convey????? Perhaps I am ignorant, or superficial... I’m sorry that you took it personally, and maybe we, the die-hard worshippers of the sacred fire of rock, are a bit rough and uncivilized but, deep down, we are sincere. Yet, I personally think I have a broad view of music. An album by Zeppelin can move me just like Gaber or Jannacci, even though they operate on two different levels of instinct and reason. The Ramones have always made me laugh like crazy, and "What's Going On" by Marvin Gaye is one of the highest musical peaks that black music has ever reached. "Stanco e perduto" by Capossella, "The Ships Song" by Cave, and "Independence Day" by Springsteen have the power to move me, but the Blue... what power can their music evoke? But even the new best thing in rock (Franz Ferdinand, Strokes, Bloc Party, etc.) what emotions do they evoke? They don’t even tickle me. Isn’t it that music has lost that evocative charge and has become, at all levels, a mere product to be consumed within a month? (if we're lucky...)
Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds Henry's Dream

Beautiful review, really. I started listening to Cave from the collection (which contains a dreamy and feverish mini CD live as a bonus..), then I continued with Henry's Dream and the others. I understood, ultimately, that Cave is one of the singers of evil. He has been, in his own way, Lou Reed too, but he was more interpreted as the unhealthy air of the metropolises; here we are faced with something more archaic. This album would be perfect accompanied by the viewing of "I tre volti della paura" by Mario Bava. Same atmospheres, same dark resonance...

CUZZOOO...did I read that right??!! With what right do you take it upon yourself to judge those you call half measures or supposed legends? I hope you can provide some plausible reasons for these statements; otherwise, you seem like someone who lacks a mental filter, someone who just makes bold claims. In doing so, you also offend those who have experienced irreplaceable emotions listening to these "supposed legends."

Great review that I agree with. Lately, I've been trusting my instinct; if after a few listens I let the album gather dust, it means it hasn't hit the right channels for me, and this is one of those, along with the Strokes, Franz Ferdinand, and Bloc Party... Give it a try yourselves, let your instinct guide you, and don’t follow these damn trends...

It's the best review of the many dedicated to this album. I haven't listened to it carefully, but this time my common sense won, convincing me to go back and retrieve the albums from the fourth one down. I had already sold Yeld; even back then, I no longer liked it, I didn't feel the same energy. Now I can finally decide to listen to the latest one.
Pearl Jam Vitalogy
Voto:
For some time now, I've had the habit of revisiting old albums whenever a new record is released by an important band like Pearl Jam. I hadn't played "Vitalogy" in ages. I remember that when I bought it, I was left speechless. I was a bit more of a rebellious dreamer back then; I knew "Alive," "Black," "Rwm," and "Daughter" by heart. But that album threw me off. It seemed deliberately chaotic in its arrangement, like walking into a room and finding an absolute mess. But now I understand that sometimes chaos creates new perspectives. Listening to it again, I really enjoyed it, especially "Immortality," it feels like a suit you try on that miraculously fits you perfectly.
