Mediocre review of Voivod, as I know little or nothing about much of Metal (but not all), so I avoid expressing myself.
Vinicio Capossela Live @ Teatro Augusteo, Salerno 25-04-06
Voto:
Perfect review, without smudges or missteps. Truly compliments to the reviewer. What can I say about Vinicio? Some albums are truly beautiful like "Canzoni a manovella," while others feel a bit heavy. However, he is a dedicated songwriter, timeless and outside of trends. I love "Che cossè l'amor" (already a classic) and I have a weakness (I admit) for "Dalla parte di Spessotto." Something tells me that one day I will decide to see him live. It's a shame many consider him just a clown (I've heard people say: "Capossela? Pfft, a fool"). Crazy stuff, I must say...

I don't know Slipknot, but dear Harry Poser (an obvious twist on Harry Potter or just a cheerful and nice nick?), I can't help but ask: why in the de-generes did you opt for almost every musical genre, including "Not classified"? I mean, ultimately, what kind of music do they make? A short review but, if you want, also passable.
Demented Ted Promises Impure
Voto:
So, Tepes, a couple of things: a) I don't know the album, nor the artist, but knowing your passion for extreme metal, I wouldn't want you to get a bit carried away and end up praising anything, even if it doesn't deserve any accolades or praise; b) the review is really not great, just a few words to describe an album, but, you know, it's like saying: "Listen to it because I say so," but that's not the way to do it (more coherence and more ideas). Otherwise, thanks for your attention.
Manowar The Triumph Of Steel
Voto:
The Manowar have never been exceptional, but here, they're not doing too badly. The usual hard lexicon, tough music, and vibrant guitar in the background: there's enough going on, and maybe even a bit too much. Some riffs, however, are intriguing and catchy. The musical interruption to include Orson Welles's voice is commendable, but at times, it's too easy to fall into the already heard and already known. A truly awful review.
Tiziano Ferro Nessuno E' Solo
Voto:
I have no prejudices against Tiziano Ferro (in fact, I quite like him), but this album, compared to the two previous ones (which everyone criticizes for no reason), is actually not one but two steps back. For the most part, it's made up of repetitive and trivial songs, somewhat elementary lyrics, and a poor dose of self-references (something that ruined Ligabue in his time as well). Sure, "Stop! Dimentica!" isn't bad, and the chorus has a nice, tight, and determined musical background. However, that's not enough, far from it. The review is well-written, but I agree with 10% of what you say (and "111" wasn't terrible, indeed, it was very good). Then of course, if everyone compares him to the sacred monsters of music, there's no contest, but saying that Tiziano Ferro can't make music is like saying that Korn can write in Italian. I mean, it's a pretty good stupidity.
Iron Maiden Piece Of Mind
Voto:
One of the peaks of Iron Maiden, perhaps not their masterpiece, but definitely a solid series of epic and genuine tracks. Metal with a capital M, and anyone who doesn't love this album (yet claims to be a true metalhead) should wisely take back their metal badge and quickly convert to opera or Italian pop (Grignani, Dolcenera, Dirisio, Pausini...). And I really don’t understand how many anonymous idiots continue to roam freely on DeBaser.
Radioactive Man Radioactive Man
Voto:
I don't know Radioactive Man, so I listened very carefully to the samples. The feeling I got, on a gut level, is that it's a bit too elaborate, and perhaps not exceptional, but definitely very curious and fun to listen to. Don't take it personally, but I don't really like your review.
Black Sabbath Born Again
Voto:
Revenge is just around the corner: dear Fidia, I’ve already told you that I don’t love Black Sabbath, and I’m not saying this on abstract grounds, but based on the fact that I’ve listened to them. I recognize that there’s something good in their discography ("Paranoid," for example), and I must say that your review, although a bit bare, is filled with affection and love for this band that, as you’ve told me, you love very much. That said, Fidia, I immediately apologize for what I’m about to say, and I won’t be surprised when you tell me that I’m wrong and that I understand nothing (after all, whenever someone thinks differently than you, you’re always quick to offend), so I’m giving a nice 1 to this terrible album which, because of Ian Gillan’s falsetto voice, seems to lean more towards Deep Purple than the true Black Sabbath. I’m sorry, Fidia, as you can see, we never seem to agree (then you can also say that this is a provocation, but you would just be monotonous and a liar...).
Pink Floyd Meddle
Voto:
Not among the best of Pink Floyd, as I've already emphasized, but certainly a great piece of work, especially on a musical level. Some borrowing (a bit generous) from "Atom Heart Mother," but also a track, "Echoes," that is sublime and spectacular. I must admit that the review is really nice. However, it's wrong to compare this album to masterpieces like "The Dark Side of the Moon."
