Alright, you said it's a piece of crap and then you give it 4 stars? Anyway, it's true Deftones is a useless album, poorly produced, sounds more like a band copying Chino & co. than an album from the originals. The only tracks worth saving are that "Lucky You" which you dismiss, an experiment that will likely be the basis for the next album coming out at the end of the month... and Minerva, the song that rips your underwear.

You don't necessarily have to be a guru to produce original records; this style has created millions of (poorly made) clones for a reason. The formula, whether you like it or not, is something original, a well-blended mix that makes them unique, and it’s the singing that, more than anything else, sets them apart. After that, I too prefer the first. AMen
