THE REVIEW

One fine day, while reading XL, on the album charts I saw a photo of 4 men, the System of a Down.

From the image, it seemed to me they were world musicians, but I had not realized that I was seriously mistaken... Several months later, a friend of mine played B.Y.O.B., one of the most beautiful songs by SOAD, found in Mesmerize. However, my friend told me that their best album was Toxicity. So I immediately went to purchase it and listened as soon as I got home.

The emotions it left me with are indescribable. The beauty of this band is that it starts with intense riffs only to suddenly soften. Each song gives a great boost of energy and tremendous anger. In my opinion, the best ones are Prison Song, Chop Suey!, Toxicity, Psyo, Aereals. The last one suddenly stops to make room for the Armenian roots of the band.

Toxicity is a bundle of psychedelia and rage. At the beginning of Prison Song, it sounds like Sean Paul is singing! Atwa initially seems like a lullaby, but then turns out to be an emotional storm. Chop Suey! at first doesn’t seem like metal, but then... Psico is truly psychopathic but fantastic.

In conclusion, a controversial and sick album, but indispensable.

Chop Suey! has a break down and an ending chorus that'll make you scream at the top of your lungs like you never have, EVER!

Every time you listen to it again, it’s like it’s the first time. And I guarantee the emotion is masterful!

If I were asked to describe the album Toxicity with one adjective, I would undoubtedly say "MASTERPIECE".

These guys are geniuses, because combining typical nu-metal sounds with sounds from their homeland (Armenia) is not a simple task.

The skill of Serj Tankian and company in composing songs is so immense that you would never stop listening to their tracks.

You must have "Toxicity", original or copied. And I guarantee that it will stay in your stereo or cd player for a long time.

Toxicity is an album that changed my life.

There’s nothing, I mean nothing, in this album that isn’t there for a specific reason.

Not only a complete and well-made album but also very original.

Finally, even in the realm of hard rock, we find calm and catchy riffs that shouldn’t be underestimated.
