And then, honestly, you lack originality yourselves. The criticism you direct at the DTs is the same old one that everyone else makes. So please, look for details that can truly go against the DTs, not a somewhat personal opinion or a conventional viewpoint.

The analysis of DT is wrong. DT are not a crossover between power and Deep Purple... that's utterly incorrect. The more accurate analysis is perhaps the fusion of 70s progressive with 80s metal. They have nothing of power. And music that is cold by nature doesn't exist. What seems cold to you may feel exciting to me, as it does with DT. For me, DT represent the peak of musicality and emotion, so I'm speaking from my subjective opinion. It may seem different to you, so don’t give a universal judgment. Furthermore, I believe the albums by DT are not at all the same as each other; certainly, this is just my humble opinion. Images&Words is totally different from Awake, one is prog-oriented, the other more metal. Anyway, everyone naturally judges music based on their own criteria. It’s different when talking about objectivization, and that’s when we enter into the technical-compositional discussion. From this perspective, DT are more complex and technical, and I would dare to say "Difficult" compared to Metallica. Of course, we must recognize Metallica, for all their straightforward impact, for the stylistic innovation they brought.

marco85, the fact that I am fast or not doesn’t mean I like those who only use technique. That’s it, I can say that indeed playing fast is fun, but music needs more to be truly enjoyable. I’m not inconsistent because I have never really expressed my opinion on the technique-melody issue.

Tagliateste, the only ones of Metallica are very simple,
try to do Petrucci's stuff and let's meet again in a few years. Don’t tell me that Petrucci can't do Metallica because that’s like saying God isn’t merciful. sig Molten Universe, since we know each other, you know I don't have this "malice" you speak of. And I believe that giving 2 stars to the DT that I adore madly is the most disgusting thing I’ve done in 20 years of life!

Stefanohab...actually, I wrote 3 more if I'm not mistaken ten minutes after this, so they will be published soon...
One thing I ask of you: perhaps I might have made some mistakes in voting; if some votes seem inconsistent, I will have them corrected immediately, because in the rush of copy-pasting I sometimes forget the votes. Pardon.
Anyway, I reviewed MICHEAL ANGELO, DRAGONFORCE, and JORDAN RUDESS. for anyone who wants to comment! I'm not the greatest reviewer, but I'm tireless!

Marco85, I don't know what you have against Petrucci, but he has little to do with this now; just focus on judging my review and the album. You don't like it? Alright. Max respect.
