Futilely, I find myself agreeing with you once again. I guess we share several affinities. After all, I know well this obligation to always and only be what people want you to believe you are. In any case, on this matter, I would like to cite three literary and non-literary sources:
1) "Il Musicista Jones" by De André, who throws "the flute to the weeds" because "if people know that you can play, you will have to play for life, and you enjoy being listened to," and I add, you are no longer free.
2) The protagonist of "Uno, Nessuno, Centomila" by Pirandello, who takes pleasure in destroying the images others have of him.
3) The protagonist of "The Truman Show," who, in a scene from the film, begins to run wildly and perform unexpected and senseless actions to disrupt the Big Brother who controls him.
It takes courage to do what Battisti did...

Honestly, I liked the others I read more. I find this one a bit pretentious. The quality is always high, though. What fascinates me about your reviews is that they always smell of life, whether real or false.

Returning to Anima Latina, this album moves me and evokes remarkable sensations within me, starting with the cover. Every time I look at it with that last ray of sunlight stretched by the cross-screen and with that round dance, I feel like stepping inside it, and sometimes I really manage to do so.... I was born in 1965, so I perfectly identify with those kids in short pants banging on pot lids and wearing old Inter jerseys. It reminds me of some wonderful summer days spent in the countryside, sweating all day and drinking water straight from the demijohns...

I checked in vain. The point is at 1:39 from the beginning of La Nuova America. The resemblance is striking. It's just 4 seconds, but it really sounds like Vasco Rossi (actually it's always Battisti) in his unmistakable "drunken" singing style (the one from the early days, like Colpa d'Alfredo, etc.). As for the nickname, you can also call me Za. Bye.

You might think I'm crazy (although it really seems that way to me), but within "La nuova America," there's a little bit that makes it feel like Vasco Rossi is singing… Maybe it was "La macchina del tempo"?? If you're interested, I can tell you the exact minute/second.

"To deliver to death a drop of splendor" (Alvaro Mutis).
P.S. For anyone who loves De Andrè, I highly recommend Dylan Thomas. I have discovered that he, along with the French, is the greatest source of inspiration for our writer as well as for Bob Dylan (cf. Dolcenera and "The Ballad of the Long-legged Bait" by Dylan Thomas). I just finished reading "Under Milk Wood," also by Thomas. It's highly recommended as well.

I was there. Lontano Lontano and Il Mio Concerto were unforgettable, just like everything else, after all. It's a shame he didn't play Canzone per Natale.

pugliamix, aside from The Tartar Steppe, I've read a short story collection called The Boutique of Mystery. Some of these stories (see "Seven Layers") leave you cold with their beauty and manage to express, through extraordinary and sweet metaphors, absolute truths about the meaning, the limits, and the pains of the human condition. Recently, I saw another collection in a hypermarket that contained more or less the same stories. In conclusion, for me, Buzzati is the literary version of Ravel's music, but not the Ravel of Boléro, rather that of Pavane pour une enfant défunte.
