At the very least, quite amusing, and that's not insignificant.

Unseen, instead I made a groove on the soundtrack CD.
Terry Gilliam Brazil
Voto:
The horror tempered by irony, science fiction but also fairy tale. In hindsight, it seems incredible that Gilliam faced enormous difficulties in making this film, due to a shortsighted production team. According to the director himself, some solutions were a compromise, starting from Lowry's dreamlike journeys which were supposed to be much more grandiose, at least in terms of production. In any case, it’s already quite good as it is.

It is often more enjoyable to listen to than the original. The review is much more engaging to read than the originals, even though doing it on the PF would have generated 3000 more contacts.

After watching Lost Highway, I thought something truly unprecedented had occurred. The usual categories of judgment were insufficient; everything was dark and devoid of meaning, yet the images flowed vividly and pierced the brain in every direction. But none of this can be explained; there are no answers to the whys here, and perhaps that's for the best.

Patricia Arquette naked in front of the car headlights, the sandy wind of the desert, Song of the siren playing in the background... gut-wrenching, nothing but depth.

God, what do I see... in order of appearance 1) A review of Lost Highway (please, let's skip the Italian translation). 2) A crappy review of Lost Highway, a vile exercise in ego about a colossal work, I had thought about writing it three thousand times, always discouraged by the magnitude of the task, you almost make me want to take the plunge for good. 3) ajejebrazorf who thinks just like me, well, there are two of us. 4) Poletti raging. Dear Marco, you are undoubtedly a likable person, with a decent knowledge of cinema and a good reviewing attitude, but your "messy for its own sake, lacking depth" brings the whole structure crashing down. I couldn't explain it to you, but it's like denying the very dynamics of life itself.

Oops, you voted for him only twice, not a thousand times, pardon me, still too many according to etiquette.

And how do you rate it 1000 times 4, dear Poletti Poli-votans? In fact, you couldn't even give it a 2; I, for example, was tempted to do so, but I held back precisely because of that undeniable fascination of certain images. But perhaps even American Beauty doesn't deserve a 2, as its otherwise excellent reviewer has done. The point is that it’s infuriating to listen to ecstatic comments about these films which seem to embody, in a large part of the collective imagination, the non plus ultra, while they get slapped with the sacred 2. I mean, Matrix is like The Dark Side of the Moon, nice too, but the best is elsewhere, thank God.

No, this is not the depth. Good like industrial jam on slices from Mulino Bianco, but the depth of the spirit is elsewhere.
