Come on, you’re not even convincing yourselves! This album is a disappointment, god it was so bad when I listened to it as a throbbing thirteen-year-old. I could feel the dismay creeping in note after note, song after song. The production is definitely lacking, and there’s a considerable amount of useless tracks. The few redeemable parts get buried under Blaze’s vocals, whose selection will remain one of the mysteries of metal faith.

Yes, that's the one! In fact, the voice can be annoying... but the clean guitar riff that carries the verse isn't too bad after all! Then again, it’s clear we’re talking about very light music!

Unfortunately for you, your hopes that the group won't blow up will be dashed! Naive is already in heavy rotation on Radio Deejay. I must say it's a really catchy and fresh piece. Right now I have the whole album spinning in the player, but it all seems terribly unripe to me. The opener, for example, really feels like something written by a pimpled seventeen-year-old on the beach, and the comparison with Radiohead that you make is truly bold.

I am "equal" with Lemuro, to put it in the words of our Mariaelena. It's nine in the morning for me too, and making my way through the jungle of Mariaelena's sentences is a tough task... but I’m starting to like her style; it's original, in its imprecision and distance from lexical correctness disguised as linguistic sophistication.

Well, Sephiroth, we would definitely have crossed paths then! I knew I would find some DeBaserian who hangs out at the "dirtiest" (in a good way) place in Milan...

In fact, I find myself in line with Fidia. I think that no (or very few) bands have ever willingly pursued the path of the underground at all costs. Every artist seeks affirmation, and the underground is often a condition one finds oneself in, rather than one one chooses to remain in for life. Fans, of course, if they discover an artist when they are still unknown, experience any breaking into the mainstream as a betrayal, but the alleged betrayal does not always coincide with an obliteration of the musical value of the artist's proposal. That said, it’s also true that there is a limit to everything. Some artists, even if they sell millions of copies, you will never find at Festivalbar or other frivolities because they know how to maintain their artistic dignity. But at the same time, they might produce videos that go on MTV, publish Greatest Hits, and go on world tours with tickets at 40 euros each. As for Consoli, I'm sorry, but your criticisms seem decidedly excessive even if supported by philological analyses. Certainly, Carmen indulges a bit too much in her vocabulary, but her lyrics are by no means devoid of meaning; moreover, she has managed to create a compositional and vocal style that is original and quite unique. Whether one likes it or not is undeniable...

I allow myself to intervene, Ashanti. Your reasoning holds up to a certain point; it’s not that just because an artist enjoys mass production and promotion, we must automatically deny any artistic or intellectual value. Nirvana were signed to Geffen, the Beatles were a mass phenomenon not entirely dissimilar to that of Take That. In this case, Carmen is an artist of some value; she writes her own songs and it’s undeniable that she has some compositional skills. The fact that you find her attitude inconsistent is another matter, but it doesn’t mean that this judgment on her behavior can automatically be extended to her music.

Because I saw that in the review instead of writing this you write qst. Personally, I see the SMS style mostly in comments, but not in the review.

Sure, the review is well-written (aside from the qst), it’s just that on DeB having a contract with a major and getting a bit of promotion, especially if you're an Italian artist, is often a curse leading to a series of ones. Their first single (Il mondo visto dallo spazio) from many years ago literally drove me crazy; I found it delightful. Since then, honestly, (I've only heard the singles) they haven't enchanted me anymore.
