I completely disagree with what you say, but I limit myself to discussing the effects... "That Malmsteen uses more effects than Romeo is new to me... consider that Malmsteen himself claims to (almost) hate effects." Impossible! Let’s not make up nonsense, please... Just listen to, for example, making love or dragonfly (great only with the wah wah) and tell me if he doesn't use them...

Ah, poohpooh, so the Dream Theater are, compositionally, better than Steve Vai?

Hehe, my friend, IF ONLY I REALLY played his pieces... But let's say that indeed Yngwie's guitar playing has inspired me (especially in the past) to the point of making me quite knowledgeable! Your observation is valid; in fact, the sound from his early days was quite different (although Fire and Ice's sound was similar), but I wouldn’t attribute that to a change in equipment configuration (after all, he always has a very genuine and ROCK sound)... As for the reasons, I believe it depends on commercial factors that appeal to the audience! I know that in shows in America, like G3, he uses a super-aggressive sound, whereas in Asia and Europe it's definitely more "gentle"... Just think of Odyssey, his best-selling album in the States: the guitar sound is soaked in flanger, which makes it sound to us Europeans (according to him, with a more refined ear) rather... RAW!

but look, Malmsteen uses many more effects, it's just that he uses them when the moment calls for it, not to make little happy crap like Romeo (and I won't comment on his solid foundations, for heaven's sake)

oh panzer, it's the second time you've told me I'm ignorant. Well, clearly I can't expect much from you, but if among your (surely immense) knowledge there was the Italian language, maybe we could understand each other... It's obvious that they feel something; they're human beings too, right!? The fact is, compared to the guitarists I've mentioned, they are COLD musicians. Then it makes me laugh that Petrucci has made the history of the guitar; you're truly an erudite!!... But wash your mouth out, come on...

Oh really? Tell me a bit... what does reason tell you? It's a bit of a strange conversation... then technique and virtuosity are two very different things, you know!

Hi jetto! How's it going? I'm waiting for more reviews, eh...don't let me down! P.S.: What do you mean when you say that Malmsteen uses crazy effects for sound distortion?
