Paolo Conte Un Gelato al Limon
Voto:
a disc born from genuine genius... a rather thin review... you could have avoided saying that UN gelato al limon is inferior to Sudamerica, etc. Un gelato al limon is one of the least well-written love songs, while Bartali is an unsurpassed fresco of post-war Italy...

Nice review, few strokes, little definition, a lot of truth. The album that starts from those very premises, in my opinion, disappoints and falls short... It’s an album that’s a bit overrated.

..under the stars of Jazz, but how much night has passed... A technical review, clean and true to reality. An album for true connoisseurs.
Francesco De Gregori - Giovanna Marini Il Fischio Del Vapore

A decent record. Marco, once again, a bit superficial in some of his statements... an unpretentious suggestion... write less and think more!

ride on youthful error?
let's say that the ac/dc back then, I would say that ac/dc would have needed to stay young longer... too bad that with the end of bon, youth went away...
Bryan Adams 18 'Til I Die
Voto:
It's a nice assorted album, but in my opinion, Bryan needs to be seen live... many prejudices would fall away... a true craftsman of rock!
(PS I must say he does everything to hide that face live)

I think that anyone who knows Zucchero well cannot agree with a lot of what I've read above. This Shake is not the usual Zucchero album; it’s decidedly more stale and polished than usual. The pastoral themes are combined with synthetic and metropolitan sounds, and this already clashes. Then to compare just a healthy and conscious lust to the great baboombah! After Spirito Divino and Blue, the creative vein that supports this album is weak. Dindondio is extremely commercial, a poorly executed remake of Così Celeste, and Degredori has been sent to write songs about dogs, with lyrics that often fall into the realm of the brainless... then you decide. As a passionate sugarino, I fondly remember many tracks from the '80s and the aforementioned recent albums, but in this Shake, I find very little of myself.
Paolo Conte Elegia
Voto:
Don't you think it's simply time passing by?
Yes, of course, the Marangolo, Villotti, etc. were musicians with great personality; they definitely gave more... but the problem, in my opinion, is precisely Conte's feeling, which has changed over the years. Much of the ironic and mocking tone has been replaced by greater sentiment and introspection.
When I listen to new versions of old glories (Reveries, the best of...), I always feel a bit disappointed; sure, there’s always more elegance, always cleaner sounds, but (at least for those like me who loved especially the ironic detachment typical of Conte, even when telling stories about women and feelings) perhaps it wasn’t exactly those crazy monkey-like interpretations, those sneers, the smoky and distant sounds, the words as a tool that made the difference from anyone else? I know, it's a rant, at 70 you can't expect someone to present themselves in those ways, and maybe that's exactly what makes me appreciate a masterpiece like Elegia less compared to other peaks like Paris Milonga, Aguaplano, etc. But it's a matter of taste...
