They and the A-ha are the only ones worth considering decent in the commercial scene of the '80s.

Blue Öyster Cult Fire of Unknown Origin

I know "Burnin' for You," and it's pathetic. There's no point in trying to save it with a weak "one of the BÖC's biggest hits: it's essentially radio-friendly rock, featuring great guitar work and a catchy, infectious chorus"; it's rubbish, plain and simple. Just because it's by the Blue Öyster Cult doesn't mean it has to be a great song; it's a silly little tune that, compared to what this band produced before, is utter garbage. And that cute little solo (but it doesn't overstay its welcome, otherwise the song wouldn't have been such a hit, yeah)... I believe this was the turning point album for Blue Öyster, the turning point called "from stars to rags." I'll listen to it again more closely and keep you updated.
Blue Oyster Cult Mirrors

the greatest novelty song of all time, alongside "moonlight shadow" by Mike Oldfield, though!

The comparison with Black Sabbath is ridiculous, to say the least. The Blue Oyster, in comparison, are just the flatulence of barracuda. Don't fear the reaper is a jingle, not fake... still nice and clean, with that lovely little sound of hers...

And if you like hard rock made by women, check out Budgie, they really have some cojones! :-)

I think this is the best, shenker made the difference. Force It and Obsession are nice too, but this one is ahead. By a lot!
