Well, "wildest dreams" is definitely the best song by Iron Maiden in the last decade! The album bores me a bit, but anyway, Cliff, you’re right about the vague prog sounds; you can notice the use of a keyboard in the background on some tracks. Good review, Cliff, I enjoyed it.

Me too! The audio is terrible, but how many emotions this CD gave me! Lars Ulrich was practically drunk that night! I'm 100% convinced of it; during the chorus of Blackened, he doesn’t play double bass, just hits the strong beats with a single stroke! Then on One, he goes out of time five times with the double kick and messes up a lot during the stop and go! Newsted's bass in that live sounds ironically just like a scooter's muffler, but damn, Jason knows how to use it! Metallica's live shows are the complete opposite of Dream Theater's, but the lightning knights know how to engage the audience 100,000 times better!!

Damn HOW MUCH I LOVE THE BASS DISTORTION NEWSTED USED!!!!!!!! It was the same as Cliff's, right? Too bad back in Cliff's time the amplifiers weren't that great and certainly didn’t have the technology we have now, but damn, the distortion in Anesthesia literally drives me crazy! Anyway, Cliff's bass often got confused with the guitars; in fact, after the initial riff of "For Whom the Bell Tolls," it really sounded like a guitar riff to me, but even Anesthesia itself seems like a guitar solo! Does he use Cliff's pedal to create the Wah Wah effect?

I say it's not fair to criticize the black album; I like the style of the songs on it, that "swaying" thrash or that harmonic rock. For me, up until "Load," which I consider a decent album, they were a great band. "Reload" just doesn't sit well with me! That album feels like N.U. metal to me!!
