@ there, they even swapped guitars, Clapton still cherishes Kossoff's black Les Paul today.

mmm I don't quite agree: Highway definitely has strong tracks, like the romantic "Love You So," the very sad "Soon I Will Be Gone," not to mention the incredibly powerful "Ride On A Pony." And we could also talk about the acoustic "Body." For me, it's the most beautiful album because Highway is the most mature record of the classic Free lineup. Having just come off the great success of the album Fire And Water, especially with the iconic "All Right Now," and after just returning from the Isle of Wight, the enthusiasm of Paul Rodgers and his crew was sky-high, and you can always feel it when an album is made with enthusiasm. Beyond enthusiasm, there's the factor of maturity. After three impulsively played albums, the band began to arrange the songs more refined, and you can hear it!
Unfortunately, despite the high musical level, the critics were not very enthusiastic about the album, and problems among the band members began to arise slowly. And unfortunately, the atmosphere surrounding this album wasn’t the best: Paul Kossoff entered a depressive crisis upon hearing about the death of his spiritual idol Jimi Hendrix, right during the recordings of Highway, and he didn’t want to play anymore because he was convinced that one day he would jam with Hendrix. However, I do agree with your point about Paul Rodgers’ voice (specifically in "Be My Friend"); it is one of the most masculine voices in rock history, and you describe it very well. But you didn’t mention "My Brother Jake," the unreleased single that was on the B-side. Fantastic hit. All in all... you stole my review :)

You're right, buddy, the Indians have always been treated like crap by everyone, and very few support their cause. I don’t know what the Americans are afraid of today; they've treated them in every possible way and still continue to fear them. Is it guilt? I hope so, but I doubt it. It makes me so angry.

Beautiful review, as always, pierpaul! I've already shared my thoughts on Toto. Anyway, this album has never excited me that much; in fact, I think that alongside Fahrenheit, it's the one I like the least: I'm not a big fan of Joseph Williams, nice voice, but he doesn't fit my personal standards of a great singer. However, there are some great tracks on this album (not all, in my opinion, but whatever...). Pamela is fantastic, and I really like Stop Loving You, and of course, Home of the Brave.
