Federico Fiumani: one of the last great Italian poets, the quintessential poet of the local new wave. One of my favorite albums by Diaframma, alongside "tre volte lacrime" and the stunning "anni luce." What still amazes me, even after yet another listen to "Siberia," is that what impacts the listener most is primarily the power of the words rather than the sounds, and this is true even twenty years after the album's release. Great Sassolini and Fiumani, always and forever, even greater than Litfiba: where Diaframma created (and continue to create) art, Litfiba delivered folklore...

ah...and also a vaguely jazz atmosphere (I don't know why, but something in that album reminds me of jazz and chamber music)

Yes.. in fact the term "pot rock" also puzzles me: it's the usual labels with which groups are tagged just to be able to review their albums. Then again, thinking about it and having only listened to "Millions" myself, they don't seem all that experimental either: that album has a lot of English electronic music, plenty of Brian Eno, a lot of ambient, and yes, even some kraut stuff like "Neu" (albeit reinterpreted).

And you even ask me! Definitely chrome, ministry, and nin! Even though skinny puppy and 10000 homo djs are essential (just like suicide) if you like the US school of brave industrials...foetus? I only know him by name, but I’ll catch up (first I need to finish thoroughly exploring the discography of tortoise, which has little to do with industrial but is definitely experimental almost on par with cabaret voltaire, not reaching the genius of throbbing gristle, maggot death rules! :D)

the hole? I can't stand them; for me, they represent the most insincere and stereotyped thing that the States have ever spread around the world...

beautiful review for an amazing band. for me, one of the most striking albums I've ever listened to, just like "half machine lip moves" by chrome. p.s. pretazzo perfect as usual.
