LA RECENSIONE

Federico Fiumani, Mirò Sassolini.... an extraordinary duo capable of combining melody, lyrical symphony, catharsis, and above all, ingenious poetry.

In the words and lyrics of Fiumani interpreted by Sassolini, everything transforms into an immense emotion that no common word can emphasize. "The ice blends with the sky and with eyes when darkness approaches", perfect words from a Siberia ready to express all its sick resentment, against the deepest and most piercing depression, stemming from darkness, cold, and chaos.

"In the warmth of burnt oil", a manifestation of meaning for Fiumani, who elaborates an inner grief ready for penetrating massacre, perfectly represented by Sassolini's monosyllabic recital. All this only in 'Siberia' that opens the album, perfectly introducing the atmosphere of the fifth song, probably the most successful gem of the album, 'Amsterdam', because it is perfectly played by Litfiba and sculpted by an extraordinary text.

Another situation presented by the album is the historical setting in which it was produced, as it is heavily indebted to gothic sounds coming from Joy Division and The Cure, set with an almost Dadaist textual perfection, dedicated to literary and intimate sense. Listening to 'Siberia' what is captured is the desire to go beyond the songs, to go beyond simple textual interpretation, and to linger on images born of strange colors like the white latex or the pitch black of oil or the leaden gray of Neo grigio.

In short, A MASTERPIECE OF EXPRESSIONIST ART.

 "The Siberia of feelings."

"A decidedly winter album. Better listened to when it rains, or when you’ve been turned down."

Fiumani, an inspired, mature, and creative composer, moves with ease on the fine line of singer-songwriter within a dark punk environment.

Miro Sassolini, 'the voice of my soul,' fits into the cold, keyboard-laden texture and brands this album with his powerful vocal presence.

"With this magnificent LP, the Florentine band Diaframma brought to life the 'new Italian rock sung in Italian'."

"At a first listen, it may seem heavy, confused, undefined… but trust me, let yourself be carried away by these atmospheres of a 'Florence' snow-covered, almost Siberian."
