A simply terrible album. Alright, Gary Green's dominance on guitar, but the hard edges reminiscent of The Who or Led Zeppelin mentioned by the reviewer aren't even that pronounced. Perhaps with Led Zeppelin they only share the fact that they ended their studio career with a less-than-stellar album. They can't even be compared to the early Gentle Giant. Civilian is not a great album, in fact.

The million euros best spent? But for fuck's sake, it’s our money, public money, our Rai license fee! Bonolis...one of the biggest tricksters on TV. Benigni doesn't make anyone laugh or cry, and even Annie Lennox couldn't revive a show that has become repetitive for years now. The Sanremo festival should be shut down at its 60th edition: it has had its time. We already hear the shitty music everywhere, we don’t need the concept reiterated by an pointless, not to mention ridiculously expensive, festival.
