I don't think at all that this film is in favor of the Queen, as you say, nor do I believe that the satire is light. They all come off as fools, and the one who looks the most foolish and is ridiculed the most among the family is, after all, the Queen's husband, Prince Philip. The Queen herself is portrayed as a heartless person, especially in scenes where Diana's death seems to not affect her at all, and her greatest concern is whether to return to London or not. Not to mention the dead deer: only an animal can move her! After watching this film, I hated Elizabeth ten times more! Great review, well written.
