Congratulations, it takes courage to review an album like this without coming across as hagiographic (because when you review Trout Mask Replica you can only be that, or the opposite); sometimes you took risks, but all in all it’s a good piece, especially when you say "it’s one of those albums that when you ask the shopkeeper about it, they immediately laugh in your face," a sacred truth. I would have reviewed this album differently (to me it’s crap), but in your review, let’s say the positive and negative elements balance each other out in a certain way, allowing those who aren’t very convinced to either find it interesting or steer clear of "music" like this, depending on their interpretation.

The real trouble is my outrageous and excessive generosity. To avoid being insulted in such a vile way, I should set up a website with my reviews, obviously for a fee. Only then would certain people have to pay me something in return to get on my nerves. How many contradictions in democracy!!

Well, it’s not that I’m interested in wasting insults and efforts against a poor soul who signs (anonymously) with 100 different nicknames to make it seem like there are so many people against me... impossible. The one who wrote those comments is just one person, and I know who they are, but I don't even feel like crushing their head under my foot... I prefer to see them crawl, also because they can never be my enemy: to be my enemy, one must be on my level, and I really don't think that's the case...

One of the best by Queen and one of the best pop albums of the '80s... a coherent, straightforward, and high-quality album... almost all the tracks are potential hits, unlike other albums by the band that had some fillers... a small note: in fact, "The Game" is one of the few works by Mercury & co. to have received critical acclaim from the music press thanks to the "renewal" after the overflowing "Jazz."

Even this thing about being a provocateur is a falsehood; rather, if there's someone who has made calmness and sobriety his virtues, that's me, and I'm proving it right now… I don't think I've ever disrespected anyone unless in response to out-of-context insults. For the rest, I've never claimed to be the first or the best, neither on Debaser nor anywhere else… I simply consider myself an excellent connoisseur and a great music enthusiast, like everyone who writes on these sites. I just say it, without hiding behind various tricks… I do so because I'm also my own toughest critic: for instance, when I write a bad review, I calmly admit that it sucks and that it wasn't a good job. But if I write something I'm proud of, I don't see why I shouldn't say it: for instance, I think I've made a good contribution to this site with many of my reviews; some I think are fabulous, others (thankfully few) I think are not garbage but almost. Mistakes happen, it’s part of the game. I'm not forcing people to think like me or to share my tastes. In fact, I have a lot of people who appreciate my contributions, and as long as they are in the majority, I'll keep doing it. If the Debaser staff, for example, considered one of my reviews unworthy of publication, no problem. I write about music for others, not for myself. I'm a very altruistic and generous person; far from being egocentric…

I shouldn't do this because you don't deserve it, but since I'm here, let me clarify a few concepts: take it easy with the insults, I know two bands and then that's it?? Please, I'm a music wrecking ball, I listen to records constantly, I compose songs, and I'm told I only know two bands??? Besides, I hate this lame competition of "who knows more artists that no one cares about" because I’m not interested, and then who the hell told you that you know nothing about music? I only told you "fuck off" because you talked shit about Oasis and those who listen to them... don't get ahead of yourself, I don't really care to know much more about you.

I consider myself an open-minded, liberal, and modern person. Criticism is always welcome if it is well-reasoned; when it turns to threats and insults, I lose my temper. Vic, I understand that you might be irritated by a "vaffanculo," but honestly, I prefer receiving a vaffanculo rather than being told that I'm not good at writing or that I don't know anything about music. So I honestly don't see the lack of respect here; you can't stand the Oasis, and I point out, in a barrack-like tone but without disrespect, how much I disagree. And keep that story about egomania to yourself, because anyone, both here and on Ondarock, is an egocentric by nature... the difference is that I am sincere and I take it for granted.

Notice the elegance and discretion of my demeanor (even towards despicable elements like you) and your boring diatribe, your bully threats, your insults born from boredom and arrogance... where would the egomania be? Here’s a guy who represents nothing to me who is rambling on about looking for my sisters, and I’m the egomaniac? You’re missing a few Fridays... then who knows why I’m such a laughingstock that every one of my interventions, wherever they are, is followed and analyzed by dozens of people... how strange.
