Kate Bush The Kick Inside

Thank you for the compliments! I actually had some concerns about this non-review (because I don’t consider it such; reviewing Kate Bush would mean insulting her), since it turned out to be quite long and should more than anything be read as a tribute, a dream, a homage to an artist who is sometimes forgotten all too easily (being the first on Debaser to write about her is my greatest pride since I started writing here). Of course, I won't always be able to maintain this tone, but this was something I really wanted to do, and I’m happy I managed to accomplish it, not without some anxiety and a few risks of collapsing...

Since Massimof likes Christian rock, may as well listen to the (fucking) Hanson...

The Hansons aren't bad either...

Well done, great album and excellent review. A band not very famous in Italy but a true cult name for many lovers of gloomy British pop (in this case, Scottish). My favorite track is the title track.

Anyway, I felt it was my duty to take care of it because it's about a great artist who, much to my surprise, is completely overlooked on the site... although now that I think about it, I'm starting to understand why. Truly challenging.

Regarding my upcoming review? I should finish it tonight, but I am not being sarcastic at all when I talk about "greatest artist." In fact, I sincerely think that reviewing her is truly a litmus test for any music enthusiast... being a goddess, it's not easy to review a divinity... how can one review a miracle? I'm trying, and I'm risking a nervous breakdown... I don’t even know why I’m putting myself through this, perhaps because I have a masochistic nature... I am trapped in trying to find the right words to describe an album that I picked up again after a long time and I’m listening to ten times a day... just have a little patience and then we’ll discuss it together.

Massimof, still with this crap about blasphemies? Okay, I get that you like the disgusting southern rock of Lynyrd Skynyrd (they also faced accusations of satanism, you know?), but I think I've explained the reason for those two final questions of mine... they were references to two stereotypes of death/black metal, decontextualizing the message of many artists in this genre from the musical format... if Marilyn Manson sings about being the antichrist, no problem, but if he says it in an interview, then there is. That’s the point of my (witty) intervention, nothing more, especially since I aesthetically hate the concept of blasphemy. It's no coincidence that I write "in art (and thus in music) is it possible to hate God but at the same time want to fuck Him?". Got it? IN ART, AND IN MUSIC. Not in parliament. Not at school. Not in your house. My question was related to a purely artistic issue, not a religious one... is every contradiction allowed in art? That’s the point. But maybe these topics are indeed too serious for the carefree atmosphere of this page.

Anyway, I'll give you a little preview: my next review will be about a tremendous artist criminally overlooked by Debaser, a gap that absolutely needs to be filled. I don't know when it will be ready, but I can already see it will be one of the most challenging I've written here.
