It's true, Hal!! We saw them live at casa139, and they are three funny and very nice guys. There was an electric guitar and a table with three laptops featuring glowing apples on which they programmed the music and the images that flowed on the screen behind them, ending with the magnificent phrase "french kissing for peace" :)))

A suitable place for those with tired ears to pause and resume listening later. :)

big words G! :))) this is the only reggae album I own even though it doesn’t have this cover ; )!!! I listen to it when I’m doing my Rasta braids at home, and that’s it.

"Indeed, I recorded many basic tracks for the songs at home, with all the fortuitous accidents that this entails. I am not a technician, but I try to capture the emotion of the moment: 'Old Europe,' for example, definitely sounds strange, but that's exactly the atmosphere I wanted to recreate. I had images of old black-and-white French films in mind. It’s a tribute to the Paris of a bygone era, at the moment when it opened its doors to a generation of American artists who were not respected back home. Alfie (Alfreda Benge), my wife, wrote the lyrics thinking of my youth and the romantic, painful love story between Miles Davis and Juliette Greco. I was thinking of my father. Gilad Atzmon, the saxophonist who plays on the piece, has a completely different story from mine. He is a dissident Israeli musician who, today, chose to become a British citizen: we met in an imaginary land, through jazz." (From an interview on rockol) "Old Europe," "Beware," and his version of "Insensatez" are among my favorites... too bad I can’t send working samples anymore!

Here’s Hal, the invisible city has finally appeared!! :) In fact, this review of the album that ranks high on all the best albums of 2003 was absolutely necessary!! 8 tracks, then a nice pause of silence, and then another 8... I listen to it on those uncertain days...
