I’m just leaving my little votes here, referring to the comment in Vrioon’s review. I’d like to add that I’ve fallen in love with these covers that are so Mondrian...
Alva Noto & Ryuichi Sakamoto Vrioon

Hi Gabbox, just the other day I saw them in concert here in Catania: simply fabulous! Before listening to them, I had indulged in your reviews, which were the best possible preparation for the concert. Everything else was delivered by the magic of a nocturnal, contemporary, and futuristic music, punctuated by the hypnotic visual effects of Nicolai/Noto. Upon exiting, I immediately bought Vrioon, Insen, and the newly released Revep, which contains the reworking of the soundtrack of "Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence" (in Italy, "Furyo"), performed live as an encore in a moment of exceptional refinement and musical sensitivity. My soundtrack for the past few days has been branded Sakamoto-Alva Noto.

Karlheinz Stockhausen Live @ Auditorium Vallisa, Bari, 12.05.2006

Yes, it's about the Helikopter Streichquartett, a string quartet in which the four musicians play suspended in the air on four helicopters, while remaining connected through microphones and monitors to each other. The composition lasts about half an hour, and to be honest, it becomes a bit repetitive, being based on predominantly tremolo lines built on the rhythmic carpet produced by the helicopter blades. Obviously, it's one of Stockhausen's most famous works, but more for its uniqueness than for the quality of the composition itself, which, in my humble opinion, does not reach the significance and complexities of "Kontakte," for example. I hope I have sufficiently satisfied your curiosity.

Another wonderful and welcome mention, in this case practically "double": not only "Distant Sounds Of Summer," but also this "Symbol" you mention at the end grabs my attention in a spasmodic way with its 13 miniatures that whirl a series of mouth-watering names... Well, default vote.
