Neil Young & Crazy Horse Arc
Voto:
Neil Young is the boss. However, Arc is unlistenable: I only listen to it because among the clouds of noise, fragments of very well-known songs emerge that the ear can latch onto. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have any appeal, as much as I LOVE guitar feedback.

To be precise: Yerself is from '91 for sure, but the Rev (or rather, the circle of people passionate about cinema and art) had already been active for several years, and Donahue was part of it. He was later hired by the FL (in 1990) for In a Priest Driven Ambulance. As for the rest: I no longer follow either of the two groups, although some of their early works are among my absolute favorite albums.

Mmm, as far as I remember, the two groups are more or less parallel; it's not a matter of hierarchy. Donahue was part of the circle of people around the Mercury Rev for quite some time (long before Yerself Is Steam), when he was picked up by Wayne Coyne and the others as a guitarist on a couple of their albums (if I’m not mistaken), the first of which was "Priest Driven." I would say it's a story of exchanges rather than of subordination.
