THE REVIEW

James Murphy (professionally a musician, producer, and if that weren't enough, a DJ) composed a track titled "45:33" to listen to on your iPod while you go running, wearing your brand-new Nikes. Try loading your PincoPallo mp3 player with "Curses", the debut album from Future of the Left. Put on your smelly All Stars, now that they're back in fashion, and head out for a run.

Find yourself chasing kids at the playground to the frantic keyboard notes of "Manchasm", imagine the streets of Hüsker Dü's Saint Paul with "Suddenly It's a Folk Song", burst into the rotisserie making a fool of yourself asking for "sausage on a stick" while humming "Wrigley Scott". Writhing on the ground, tormented by the tight groove of "Real Men Hunt in Packs", and pant, clutching what remains of your spleen, to the almost martial rhythm of "Adeadenemyalwayssmellsgood". If you survive, go home and collapse on the couch, to enjoy the piano and unexpected sweetness of "The Contrarian".

From Wales, with fury.
