Big Black Atomizer

Great pretazzo, after Squirrel Bait and Germs here come Big Black. A band that is nothing short of essential, hugely influential on the following decade. Also check out the record label Amphetamine Reptile that put out some insane noise!!! Anyway, Big Black remains a step above those bands (except for the Cows who are truly amazing).

My favorite Dylan album from the '60s. I give it a 4 instead of a 5 because the review was already there.

There is a documentary called "The Decline of Western Civilization" that describes the Los Angeles hardcore scene of those years. I recommend it to any fan of Black Flag, X, or Germs; it's amazing.

I never liked tributes and covers.

I wasn't referring to you but to certain conversations that are heard around (even on this page) :)

Undoubtedly, Pink Floyd have been very influential; I just wouldn't consider them THE quintessential rock band (regardless of whether I like them or not).

I agree with you on everything, except for the fact that the latest innovations date back to the early '70s.

I completely agree with you. Pink Floyd are a great band, but phrases like "the greatest band in the history of rock" or "they have left a lasting mark on the history of music" are frankly exaggerated.

Well, whether they are overrated is my opinion, why necessarily "biased"? The fact that they are known by millions of people says nothing about their artistic value (the Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears are also known while truly seminal bands like the Pop Group or Faust are known by few). Regards.

"The Wall" the most important rock opera? I don't think so, I find it interesting but only in parts. Zen Arcade, now that is a great rock opera! Piper at the Gates of Dawn the most important album of psychedelia? I wouldn't take that for granted. Pink Floyd are an extremely overrated band. I like them...
