Oh crap, so few comments for this GREAT album? They may not be the inventors of math-rock (see the Black Flag's The Process of Weeding Out) but in my opinion, this is the best instrumental noise ever made, transcendent, sublime (and better than Don Caballero). SST was killing it back then, no one could even come close to its quantity-of-quality.

I just listened to it again, what can I say? In fact, there are some nice noise elements in there, and at one point even a bit of a psychedelic tail (who knows where, my CD version is divided into 4 massive tracks and it's almost impossible to match the songs with the titles...), but overall it's a hefty chunk that's hard to digest. And then, damn, it lasts 68 minutes!

I had the idea of writing this review too. I would have talked about it differently, with a tone of perplexity. But is this really music, or have they gone too far? They have succeeded in recording the most unlistenable album in history, more so than Trout Mask Replica, more than the most incomprehensible stuff from Ubu. In the end, my rating for the album is a non-rating: "Meh..."

Well, the album is a nice album, no doubt about it. Nothing particularly exceptional though, very good old-school hard rock, perfect to put on when you just want some fun music and that's it.
