Oops, a month late I thank you for the tip (I had forgotten your comment). Yes, yes, I know the 35007, usually I don't buy records blindly, I first do a preliminary listening. I listened to "39 Laps" by Monkey3 and it's really not bad at all. Personal feelings, no, I would say it sounds more like Liquid (with the presence of heavy riffs) rather than this "Phase V", while still maintaining its liquidity.

Alright, listen. They remind me a lot of the Vaselines (in a more rock-oriented version), nice pop songs performed with nonchalance (is that spelled right?), without too much effort. Not bad. Do you know anything about Beat Happening?
The Flaming Lips Hear It Is

Alright, the review isn’t bad overall (better than mine for sure, but that wouldn’t take much). I hate track-by-track reviews, but some of the descriptions you made are funny and over the top (in a Julian Cope way, I’d say). However, there are a few things I disagree with: first of all, your snobbish tone of "I’m proposing interesting stuff unlike the posers and shitheads that populate this shithole of a site" --> you could have skipped that introduction, come on. Then there’s the matter of attitude: I agree that this is an album that’s both punk and psychedelic, but I wouldn’t make it an issue of attitude. Psychedelia can be reasoned, why not? The Flaming Lips have that scatterbrained vibe, but deep down Wayne Coyne is a thinker, not just some jerk. They’ve intelligently reconciled two seemingly contrasting worlds like punk and psychedelia, drawing inspiration from the retro outlook of Husker Du (who, even though they’re punk, have even covered the Byrds!) rather than from Black Flag; the result is a garage-punk that, in the end, is quite enjoyable but not particularly original.

DeBaser has turned into Films vs Metal reviews. Is there no one talking about the old kraut bands anymore? I just don't relate to it anymore...
High On Fire The Art Of Self Defense

One of the best metal albums OF ALL TIME. Obsessed, drugged, incredibly dense and dark, beyond stoner, beyond doom. I actually prefer it to Sleep (heresy?), the two subsequent albums don’t even come close to this magnificence.

Yeah, cheers to low-fi. It really feels like a B-rated record, that's why I like it.

I like them more than the Cramps. They have a certain taste of Australian underground rock, I don’t know why...

An institution of noise-rock. It seems incredible, but it's a record on par with the previous ones.

Never tolerated either, but the album is essential. What kind of review is this? I agree on the minimalism, but the rest not at all. And then the closing is embarrassing: "a must for all alternatives," come on.

I don't know, I was just saying. When I was 18, I listened to Queen... Now Double Nickels On The Dime is among my 3-4 all-time favorite albums.
