I really like the latest one. It has some of their more "accessible" tracks, and then, as you rightly say, there's the epic saga in chapters and subchapters of the title track that alone could make an entire album.

I took the long sample directly from the official website, it shouldn't violate any copyright.

@Gonzo: Confessors set up today in the car. It's still early to give a judgment, for now I can say: liked them with reservations.

@bjorky: Inventions I like a lot too, it's definitely closer to the classic Ash Ra Tempel style. E2-E4 goes even further. And even more than that.

@pretazzo: Manuel Gottsching was the guitarist of Ash Ra Tempel, occult gods of supersovereign ultrapsychedelic kraut. He should already be your idol!

@ajeje: wow, what a club. As you rightly say, the difficulty comes more from the length of the work rather than the sounds, which are (I would dare say) quite mainstream/radio friendly. Moreover, upon closer listening, it's a pretty varied hour: here and there, interludes of psychotropic guitar solos, small melodic inventions that gradually derail the narrative. Not sharp changes, but a slow metamorphosis, sometimes imperceptible.

I adjust the rating; in fact, with 3 stars, I didn't feel good about my conscience :) The B-side significantly boosts my overall enjoyment after the first 4 tracks, which were somewhat colorless. The title track kicks ass all around, but aside from that, I don't find anything memorable. From Metal Meltdown onwards, the music really starts to make sense, especially the concluding One Shot At Glory, which still gives me chills years after the first listen.

No pretazzo, it's a German from times past. You'll see, the review will appear tomorrow.
