A good record for cd-crossing, to maybe leave in the restrooms of the train station... but I'd keep the cover :o)
TONTO's Expanding Head Band Orchestra Tonto Rides Again
Voto:
Perfect review, written with expertise and passion. My curiosity about this group (of whose existence I was not even aware) and about the electronics of the early '70s has increased exponentially. The rating for the album is based on trust, and a new chapter in the saga will be welcome.
Neil Young Sleeps With Angels
Voto:
Like Night87, it would have been nice to spend a few more words on this album. "Sleeps With Angels" fascinates me for its perfect balance of raw rock, blues, and folk atmospheres; "Change Your Mind" is one of the grandest rock rides of the '90s (a decade I don't particularly love), and the other tracks make for a more than worthy backdrop.
The Moody Blues Days Of Future Passed

A concise and impeccable review. I bought this album for "Nights in White Satin" and it has become one of my best travel companions... years later, after many listens, the almost perfect alchemy between symphonic music and rock found in this work still fascinates and moves me.
Vasco Rossi Basta Poco
Voto:
Oh yes, Ajeje, I recognize that your reasoning makes sense. Back in the vinyl days, the limits of the medium imposed durations of 30-40 minutes, so there was greater selectivity in choosing the tracks to include in the album. With the CD era, it’s not uncommon to come across albums that drag on for 50-70 minutes with only a few truly good tracks and a lot of fluff.
Vasco Rossi Basta Poco

For now, I’ve read the text and found it quite laughable—well, in the style of good (to put it mildly...) Vasco. The only good thing about this operation is that, at least, Mr. Rossi, instead of subjecting us to a whole album, will only propose one song (to say the least...) at a time. How can we not give him a 1 on trust?
Francesco De Gregori Pezzi
Voto:
I also prefer De Gregori from the '70s, but his more recent work has remarkable depth; I don’t consider "Pezzi" a masterpiece (there are a couple of rather weak tracks), but it's an album "beautiful with a soul" like few others these days (I think of intense songs like "Parole a memoria," "Passato remoto," and "Le lacrime di Nemo," etc.). We could argue for hours about the absolute or relative value of this album, but it seems to me that De Gregori is one of the few oases left in the increasingly barren landscape of Italian music.
