Queen A Kind of Magic
Voto:
Never among my favorites, especially after "The Game." They are proof that it's not enough to be good musicians to make good music. This is a collection of little songs that become tiring by the third listen. Overrated "Who wants to live forever," of which I prefer the treatment it received from Joe Sandalo (a matter of taste, but I've always enjoyed playing darts with inflated balloons :-)
Jimi Hendrix Purple Haze - 2CD Box
Voto:
When I saw the cover, I was a bit skeptical: it reminds me of those collections you find in newsstands... But sometimes you manage to find some gems: years ago, I found at the supermarket for 6,000 Lire some well-made live bootlegs of Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, and Led Zeppelin, with tracks that (at least back then) seemed impossible to find. I don't have this one, and for Jimi, for now, what I have is enough.
Ravi Shankar and Philip Glass Passages
Voto:
Sometimes on Debaser you learn something: I didn't know that Master Shankar and Master Glass had met and decided to do something together. All of this piques my curiosity, even though it's music I haven't listened to in a long time. It seems perfect for an hour of meditation, leaving everything else outside the door, at least for a little while. Too bad about the reference to the DT: it gives me the same feeling as a cameo by Massimo Boldi in a Clint Eastwood movie.
CSNY Déjà Vu Live

They deserve it anyway, both for their commitment and for the excellent music.
Lenny Kravitz 5

Beyond the disdain and the scruffy, foul-smelling appearance (but why judge musicians by their looks? David Gilmour, who is on a whole other planet, was criticized in the '70s for his dirty hair, yet he played (and still plays) like a god), I admit it doesn’t sound bad. However, it doesn’t convey anything to me; clearly, I'm worse than a Viking. Curiosity: if he had titled it "1", what rating would you have given it?
Walter M. Germain Il Magico Potere della Vostra Mente
Voto:
In my area, a guy became popular who wrote a book using the SMALL CAPS font (to stimulate the power of the mind), and he titled it "I Am God." A friend of mine claims he was part of his entourage and repeated this statement every other sentence, each time followed by a chorus of "CAN!"
Electronic Arts Fifa 99

So many memories: championships won with Venezia (my striker was Dimitriadis, whom I had picked up from a Greek team), with Nottingham Forest (!), with Hansa Rostock, with Montpellier... The music was terrible, but the commentary by Bulgarelli and Caputi was priceless... Years later, I played with E.A. Euro 2004, definitely better in terms of graphics, harder to play.

Vasco Rossi Va Bene, Va Bene Così - Live
Voto:
The analysis of what "live" represented at that time is excellent: a summary of an artistic phase (I also think of Battiato's "Giubbe rosse" or De André's "1991 Concerti," or even Dalla's "Dallamericaruso") or a gift event for the audience (I think of Venditti's "Circomassimo") and not a lifeline for the artist (or presumed such) in crisis. As for this album, Vasco is already in a phase of decline (which, in my opinion, started with the crude "Bollicine" of the previous year), but compared to what he has become today and certain figures mentioned in the review, he seems almost like Mozart. However, the greatest merit of the album is that it lasts half as long as "Fronte del Palco."
