Being named, they spark curiosity.

God bless you, please, Mrs. Robinson.
Madonna American Life

But does Madonna have any ideas? And what are her ideals? The pipino and the danè ($oldi)?
Edgar Lee Masters Antologia di Spoon River
Voto:
Fundamental for the conception (each life summarized in an epitaph). What strikes me about Edgar Lee Masters is his ability to change language and register with each composition. My favorite is probably Elijah Browning, but there are many others. I also read "Il secondo Spoon River," which I find less inspired, more contrived, and more professional.
Pino Daniele E sona mo'
Voto:
A respectable job. Pino Daniele live is applause-worthy. Here, fortunately, he is not yet in the "Fabiola period."

Lost? I have lost it. They are quite good, but they have never caught me. However, the cover is brilliant.
David Bowie Ragazzo solo, ragazza sola
Voto:
For "The Sound Of Silence," there's already an Italian version that has nothing to do with the original lyrics ("La tua immagine").
David Bowie Ragazzo solo, ragazza sola
Voto:
A masterpiece of involuntary trash. It's hard to say whether David Bowie's pronunciation (who probably only knew how to say ciao and cappuccino in Italian) is more ridiculous or if it's Mogol's lyrics (who had already mangled "Blowin' in the Wind" a few years earlier). The rating is the exact average between the White Duke and the most overrated lyricist of all time. I really like the version by the Giganti: at least there's a certain adherence to the original and the music slightly veers towards prog. Among the improbable covers, I point out "I giardini di Kensington," written by Paolo Dossena to Lou Reed's music for Patty Pravo: it's "Walk on The Wild Side" transformed into a song about Peter Pan (!). But all the "translations" of the Beatles are terrible as well.
Miles Davis Directions
Voto:
Challenging, but well done. In this case, the track by track really fits. Well done!
Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark History of modern

A disappointed expectation?
