THE REVIEW

I know that other reviews have already been made, but I still want to write one about this beautiful album. I wrote beautiful because I couldn't find any other way to describe it. Now I will analyze the whole story and then the songs. The album was released on April 18, 2003, and is characterized by the combination of electric and acoustic sounds, a certainly innovative idea but not appreciated by everyone. The album turned out to be a flop in the United States from the sales point of view, but I consider it one of the best. The songs have very deep meanings and express the singer's ideas and ideals. I will describe each song and give a rating. Enjoy reading.

The title track (i.e., the song that gives the album its name) "American Life" expresses her thoughts about her life, describing it in a song that's a bit pop and a bit rap, filled with a lot of electronic music. Rating: 9.0/10.

The second track is "Hollywood" where Madonna criticizes Hollywood, describing it as a place where a person loses themselves in the pursuit of success. The lyrics are beautiful but the song itself is not special. Rating: 6.5.

"I'm So Stupid", the third track on the album, is a song of self-criticism. Very rhythmic with a strange chorus thirty seconds in. Rating: 7.0/10.

With "Love Profusion", we enter a sweet yet lively atmosphere. Rating: 9.0.

From "Love Profusion" we move to "Nobody Know Me", an almost robotic song, yet another style change within the album. Rating: 6.0/10.

Next is "Nothing Fails", a love song, very sweet, very beautiful. Rating 9.0/10.

We move to "Intervention" a track that seems boring at first but has stunning lyrics. Rating 6.5/10.

"X-static Process", the seventh track on the album, talks about the relationship between the singer and religion. Here we find only Madonna's voice and the acoustic guitar. Gorgeous. Rating: 8.5/10.

Feeling nostalgic for the old Madonna? There's "Mother And Father". Here Madonna returns to the high-pitched voice of "Like a Virgin" but with deeper lyrics. It narrates the relationship with her father after her mother's death, which happened when she was 5 years old. Rating 6.00.

The tenth track is "Die Another Day", which if memory serves me, was also the soundtrack of "Agent 007 - Die Another Day". Very similar to "American Life" but with dark settings. Rating 9.0/10.

And the album ends with the track "Easy Ride". Besides being the last, it's also the longest (exceeding 5 minutes). Perhaps it's a bit sad but it has very beautiful lyrics. "Rating: 7.5/10".

Another album has passed. If you enjoyed it, you can take a look at the EP (Extended Play, a record with fewer tracks than an album) "Remixed and Rivisited & Revisited", which contains 4 remixes (of "Nothing Fails", "Love Profusion", "Nobody Know Me" and "American Life", a medley (a track that contains multiple songs) of "Like a Virgin/hollywood" and two new songs:

"In the Hollywood Groove", a sort of mix between "Into The Groove" and "Hollywood", sung together with Missy Elliot. Rating 7.5/10.

"Your Honesty". With this track, we return to "Bedtime Stories". This is indeed a track discarded from the album and presented again after 9 years. Rating 7.5.

My review ends here. I hope it wasn't boring. Thanks to everyone for reading it all!!! And thank you to Debaser for allowing me to write this review!!! See you next time!!!

Madonna is an artist full of ideas, who often contradicts herself, who often does very silly things and who is often even irritating, but honestly, that’s what makes her beautiful.

Madonna needs to rediscover that genius that she is rightly perhaps losing; I hope not because I remain and will always remain a big fan of hers.

When I think of the "Madonna" brand more than the word "art" what comes to mind is the word "Marketing Genius".

"Nothing Fails" is a masterpiece of pop! The only one on the album worthy of Madonna’s name.
