THE REVIEW

Poetry as the highest expression of Humanity.

Poetry to do justice where indifference kills every day the passersby we meet on the way home and reduces life to the worship of oneself, justifying the horror of considering human beings as statistical data, numbers, commodities for exchange.

Poetry that attacks central power and the system of homologation and massification of humankind through a search for beauty in the variety of life, through the epitaphs of the dead in Spoon River, an imaginary town in the hills of the American countryside where each deceased, even the most ignorant unfortunate, has the chance to lyrical-ize their existence, to finally be sincere in expressing their viewpoint, their individuality mercilessly trampled by the world of the stronger.

244 poems/epitaphs, lightweight and evocative lyrics, to grant immortality to the last and the unhappy as well as to free spirits and criminals, to teach us the world in the heart of a madman and the unhappiness of a heart patient, to give us flights of souls and the sense of freedom of a street musician.
