Senese, are you talking about this stuff? Perhaps you mean the recent production of Pino Daniele? But I don't even consider that; I was talking about their collaboration in the golden days :)...

well, Marangolo participated in famous tracks by Pino Daniele, long before Tullio De Piscopo joined the team... anyway, I might prefer Marangolo, there, I've said it, I've stuck my neck out... you were rightly saying earlier that one of the greats was Amoruso, what a shame... and the other great lost along the way is James Senese :(

Sorry for the somewhat incorrect form and the delirium above... but if someone understands me and has something to say, I would be really happy :)...

noooooooooooooooooooooo, not this, I won't accept it... I can't believe it... if he wrote "na tazzulella e cafè" he could have written them all!!!... a curiosity, I’m addressing both you and "drummers" in general, I’ve always wondered why Pino chose for the album a version of "Viento e' Terra" played by Marangolo instead of Tullio De Piscopo, given the stunning studio version that is indeed by De Piscopo. Moreover, the live version by Marangolo, although perfectly executed and enriched by off-beat accompaniments (drummers, correct me if I’m wrong) and also by precious counter-rhythms towards the end (during Amoruso's solo), lacks those "charleston" beats in counter-rhythm that are the backbone of De Piscopo’s version... a situation then reversed with the track "Musica Musica" performed live by De Piscopo, while recorded in the studio by Marangolo (I don’t think it’s Mauro Spina), but in this case, De Piscopo doesn’t stray much from Marangolo’s version; unfortunately, he also modifies it, removing some stunning counter-rhythm beats present in the original version... I wonder why this choice? why? ... I know well that the question should be directed to Pino Daniele and the two drummers :)...

Nightwalker, unfortunately I don't have the vinyl available, because it's at "mammà's" house. I seem to recall that side A of the first album was entirely played by Agostino Marangolo (a great), so "Chillo È Nu Buono Guaglione; Have You Seen My Shoes; Viento 'e Terra; Io Vivo Come Te;" and perhaps these are also the best tracks of the album, where the magic of the arrangements and all the "Jazz, Fusion, and so on" influences come out. The rest of the album is obviously played by the magnificent Tullio de Piscopo; I've never been able to choose between the two :)... dear nick81, work has so far not allowed me to write that review, but let me jokingly tell you that you are "infected" by Pino Daniele's "second style," that is to say, the always acoustic and often syrupy one. Surely the live album you mentioned is a great album, if nothing else for the selection of almost all tracks from the past, and it's a very bluesy album, but frankly, the two records are not comparable; "Live Sciò" is in my opinion one of the best live albums ever, and I’m talking on a global level... I agree with the reviewer, Pino was "an artist in the full bloom of his maturity and energy," and when you reach the peak, all you can do is slowly (more or less) come back down...

Well, we are talking about a huge album; right now I can't leave a more complete comment, but I believe, and I will try to verify it, that the first 4 tracks of the album featured Agostino Marangolo on drums, rather than Tullio De Piscopo, but I don't have the vinyl handy...

I didn't know Nick, but when I listened to him, it was love at first sight... an extraordinary sensitivity... "At The Chime of A City Clock" is one of the most beautiful tracks I've ever heard... a superb album, the best of the three in my opinion... the review is spot on, perfectly capturing "some" of the emotions that this record gives.

just listen to something else and avoid leaving your opinion here?... I'm sure you didn't mean to say this :)...
