Liars They Were Wrong, So We Drowned
Voto:
Unlistenable!!??
For me, it's a beautiful album. Maybe it's because I adore albums that sweep away the common sense of music and melody, but this album is terrifically beautiful, crazy, and hallucinatory. I wonder what more you could ask from an album.
June Of '44 Four Great Points

Of "potentiality scattered in the air," Calvino speaks referring to literary neorealism, and like him, I also say that post-rock did not consciously begin; I don’t believe that bands like Slint, Codeine, and others were aware of what they were doing. And, in my humble opinion, it makes no sense to ask whether post-rock has adequately responded to the anxiety for renewal, precisely because it is only in hindsight that we see post-rock as a response to the stagnation of rock upon itself. It was a response to a latent necessity, and it is precisely when this necessity becomes institutionalized and sets a precedent (which, if it has not already happened, is certainly well advanced) that post-rock will have fulfilled its task.

Don Caballero is definitely superior in terms of experimentation... and I also wrote in this review that they are just one of the many groups that have enriched the innovative ranks of post-rock. In my opinion, it’s impossible to determine which of these early bands is more influential than the others. The fact is that during that time, no one invented post-rock. It was a potential that was floating in the air. There was a craving for renewal. And in my view, it’s pointless to say who seized this opportunity first or not. Many did. June are one of these bands.
Le Orme Studio Collection 1970 - 1980
Voto:
The Orme, like Banco or PFM and other Italian prog groups, have left behind little that is truly beautiful. It’s been a while since I listened to prog, and I don’t even remember the titles of those albums by The Orme that drove me crazy... ahhhh yes, writing has reminded me of them: "Collage" and "Felona e Sorona," but I might be wrong. Those two albums were spectacular... I never managed to listen to the other albums all the way through. Great review.
Explosions In The Sky Those Who Tell The Truth Shall Die, Those Who Tell The Truth Shall Live Forever

My personal opinion is also hugoniot... and in my view, there have been groups that marked qualitative leaps, that added that extra touch to which other groups, in their own way, referred. But today things have changed a lot... today they are closer to how you see it... the great hegemonies have disappeared, there are no more reference groups, also because rock has stopped representing a culture... today groups break up and reform to seek new paths, post-rock and electronics in particular are filled with countless groups that just want to make music... back in the day, rock was protest music... now it’s just music, it’s dead in the sense that it has given way to new forms of rock; music is always evolving; it’s dead because the culture that legitimized its existence has died.
C.S.I. Noi Non Ci Saremo Vol.1

Ferretti is simply a genius... his voice does not sing, it preaches, in an almost religious way, spitting out granite-like poems that carry the weight of prophecy. This album is a representative gem of the CSI experience.

You are mistaken....
There are groups that have established new standards with their music. I won't mention them because we could disagree, but they certainly exist....

Oops sorry for the title... it's true, a "foreverr less." Anyway, Molten Universe, what you say is very true; in fact, I didn't say they aren't geniuses just because they didn't create a new genre. But true genius really belongs to the few. The Explosions are a group of strummers, as they've been defined, who manage to do spectacular things without technically overdoing their instrument... but from there to being geniuses of music, there's still a long way to go.

Odradek is just as you say.
Film and orchestra simultaneously…
Needless to say, it was exhilarating for me to witness the mastery of these musicians.
As a drummer, albeit an amateur, I know well what it means to keep time.
In a performance like that, even the slightest misstep from the musicians could have derailed the entire execution...
Anyway, sorry for the flood of responses…
I thought I had published the review as a member…
so I was waiting for the email notification to see if it had been posted.
In fact, I stumbled upon it by chance. Please forgive me.
