Yes, North! ..and I see that you more or less had the same impression as me.. by the way, I don’t know if you noticed that especially during the last "my girls," the audience seemed like the exact same bunch of bloated Americans dancing R'n'B at Space.. a bit sad :-)

You beat me to it, I wanted to do it myself :-) ..I really liked this record: it sounds like how pop should sound in 2009, stunning, a bit off-center, intrinsically surreal. This aside from the fact that they start from psychedelia. Live, however, they deliver much less. Seen them at the Viper in Florence a couple of weeks ago.. some tracks benefit, but most lose out. But great vocal work.

It's an uneven album, but like all debuts that truly seek something personal... there are parts I like more and parts I like less, as I already told Alessio. But the fact remains that if only all Italian bands had this attitude, instead of being trendy or ultra pseudo-intellectuals. For the future, I would focus on improving and personalizing the vocals more, but maybe Alessio already knows that, or maybe he rightly doesn’t care at all :-)

Fantastic, Alessio.. I completely agree with you, and I really regret that Corbijn's film didn't have more courage in depicting Curtis's character..

what a drag... the single sounds like a copy of some other random song from other albums... and it’s also melodically less catchy... I sincerely hope they go for solo careers before reaching the fourth one.

hahaha, good one... they don’t have anything to do with each other... apart from the fact that Radio Dept. have nothing to do with Ride, while the Boxer Rebellion have everything to do with Ride. Clearly, we have a different idea of the term “reference.” Let’s say more specifically that the Boxer Rebellion has the exact same ultra-reverberated guitar sound (with distortion included), they have the exact same logic of ultra-extended tracks (in terms of sounds), they have the exact same approach. But perhaps you’re right, talking about subtlety is misleading. Better to use the term “tribute band.”

I really enjoyed the review! No matter how hard I try, I can't find the solo work up to par with the Floydian one... however, it remains a tremendous album.

Um, no one said that the Radio Dept. has anything to do with it (thankfully)... they simply both rely (clearly) on the same references. Do you have any idea of what these references are? Bye!
