George A. Romero Zombi

this is beautiful..but from Romero what I like the most is "the city will be destroyed at dawn" from which Dylan Dog clearly borrowed "The Killers" hehe :-D ..beautiful

No, you’re absolutely right, it's definitely a matter of general trend. What I wrote to you earlier was precisely because of what we shared about Battles, as a group that "says something." I'm always on the lookout for something that speaks, and I hoped that since this was your album of the year, it would be one of those as well. Your comment, however, clarified your approach to an album like this... which still remains enjoyable beyond the average.

well, I actually agree :-D ..I saw your post and I returned to this review after months.. I happened to read some excerpts from old or very old discussions and I too felt nostalgic. A greeting to you as well!

After your anticipation, I listened to it right away, but I honestly expected better... it seems like the usual frenzied alternation of signs and solutions without a real language. A typical group from the 2000s, in short, without much ability to stand out (even though the appeal is pleasant due to psychedelic references).

I wasn't convinced at all, but if you say so, and you say it like that, I urgently need to try.

Zione, if that's the only one, yes.. they seem very prone to exhibitionism, with those big riffs and those ultra-explicit sounds (even though they are now ultra-canonized). And yet... what do they want to say? I've never understood.. it just seems to me like they are trying at all costs to sound "menacing," but in the end, they know very little.. frankly, I think there's better out there.

too many duplicates, it's true, but yours is definitely the most honest (even if it's a bit scruffy? :-D) …I mostly agree… although rather than a scruffy pop disguised as psychedelia, it seems to me that this album fully reflects the phrase: "The songs are catchy, well-built but you can feel a mile away that they are fake, distant, never truly emotional."

I’ve never heard them, unfortunately, but I’ve always found them really nice.

I didn’t like it much.. but I acknowledge its value.

To me, Echo and the Bunnymen don't resemble The Doors at all.. today, however, even the most striking similarities are hypocritically labeled as "new" something.. anyway, it's true, they don't resemble Joy Division that much either; they simply replicate (but in a more watered-down and sterile way) the expressive component.. which is much worse than any formal plagiarism.
