Hey Caz, do you think I went overboard? In fact, now that you've mentioned it, those definitions would really fit for the Naked City!! But come on, Black Francis is quite a notable weirdo too, right?
Dream Theater Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From a Memory

For Livio: with all due respect, but with all the wonderful concept albums written in the history of rock, frankly this didn’t seem particularly noteworthy to me. Moreover, considering my analysis, it didn’t seem that important to take this album into account as a concept, since I focused on considerations of a completely different nature compared to a description of the album in its entirety. Lastly, perhaps trivial criticisms, but certainly not useless, as no one had previously spoken about Dream Theater in these terms.

For "!": I never said that the VU are incomparable to any other group in terms of quality, but as you also mentioned, they are a group that exists in a dimension that has very little to do with any other band from the '60s. In the end, I just wanted to emphasize how much more enlightening it would be for everyone if in the collective imagination the VU had the same significance and importance that has always characterized the Beatles; perhaps I didn't explain myself well. Regarding the statement "they have said everything and written everything," I fundamentally stick to my opinion; it may be exaggerated, but given all the influence they have had in the decades that followed, I don't think it's TOO exaggerated!

Hi Hal. No, I haven't heard it. I'm desperately looking for some bootlegs from the early days of the Velvet, but so far I haven't found anything. Is the '72 live one good?

But look at all these nice comments. Nick, you are the best, kosmo, you are one of a kind.

Damn! Even one! Sorry to tell you, but apart from the fact that you also commented on the pieces one by one (which I didn’t do and maybe I should have, even though I didn’t feel like it in front of such a mediocre album), I really don’t see how your review is so different from mine. In fact, the first part of yours says the same things as mine, just in slightly different terms; and if we’re talking about clichés, I don’t think that statements like "not very original and feels quite fake" shine with particular originality either, just like it’s certainly not new that Muse have never produced "anything particularly innovative"... You do you, I gave you a 4 out of trust, being your first review, but don’t get too cocky, okay? ;)

the latest Pavement were a bit too pop, folk, and alt. country for my tastes. But they seem worth trying! Good job!

Hi Nadir. Actually, I wrote them over the course of a week, but the dwarves published them all yesterday!! In fact, though, I’m living the university life, you can imagine.. :))))))

they're definitely not my cup of tea!! :) anyway, I’ll just say that they don't have anything particularly special! there are much more interesting groups; like the Tortoise, who perform with two drummers, swap instruments for every song, and each one plays a bit of everything, improvising—THAT is an interesting band live. Not that Muse aren’t skilled musicians; they just don’t seem to convey much, and honestly not more than many others. So, to tell you the truth, I was looking forward to them getting off the stage and the RHCP coming on, even though the latter are way more imprecise, off-key, and all over the place than Muse :)
