Second note to the ridiculous comment from IO: I didn’t just talk about a surplus of technique, but also about a lack of expressiveness; "through her eyes" is a clichéd piece; it echoes the glam rock of the '80s, very calculated, lacking any originality, it’s a "conservative" piece, stale and already old, it has a redundant solo that lasts too long, it’s kitschy and pointless, it's empty and devoid of depth, and that’s that.

uauauauauauauaua WOW, your comment had me laughing so hard; you Dreamtheater fanatics are quite comical; let's start with a nice grammar analysis: what the hell does "they own a good chunk of the music world" mean? besides the obvious absurdity of a completely nonsensical statement, I don't understand that "own"; what is it, are they also music industrialists? Do they own a nice chunk of Virgin or Sony? What do you want them to "own"? ..what nonsense.. Anyway.. moving on, and here you really had me rolling with laughter: "the pink floyd (by the way: "floyd" with a y and not an i) etc... are not just some crappy little band but the DT are the best" ..uauauauauauauauauauauaua, but do you at least know what you're talking about? guys, how can you make fools of yourselves like this! Are you talking about PINK FLOYD, do you understand that or not? This is stuff that the DT wouldn't even dare to think of equaling even if they lived for 2000 years! Come on, a bit of sense of proportion..

Do you think Michael Jackson's "thriller" has high intellectual value? Well, there's not much to say; usually, when an album achieves stratospheric sales, it's pure garbage. And in this regard, I could mention the Backstreet Boys, blink-182, Madonna, all “artists” who sell 15 million copies per album; where would their intellectual value be? ... and we could go on. Not that DSOTM is at such low levels, far from it, but masterpieces are another story. It might be a matter of being "cool" by going against the bestsellers, but it doesn't seem very intelligent to unconditionally accept the judgment of the countless flattering reviews that have been written about an album that is, objectively, much more mediocre and less original than what the Floyd had previously created, no album excluded.

Well, I didn't actually compare them. I mentioned "loveless" just as one of the many examples of albums that can "move" even BEYOND the DTs. I don't know if you've noticed, dear Sebastiano, but for most people writing here, it seems that nothing exists outside of the DTs, that they are everything, that they are beyond, that they are super, but enough!! You guys have worn me out!! (not you, obviously) For me, the DTs are nothing, zero, they represent less than nothing in the musical landscape, and I wanted to reiterate that with this review. At least a different opinion, for crying out loud, everyone is there to hype them, it was about time to let another voice be heard, you know..

Punxa, you understood everything. Expressiveness, guys, a F-U-N-D-A-M-E-N-T-A-L concept.

Guys, guys, you’re really pathetic; so narrow-minded that you can’t conceive that there’s a myriad of different things that can evoke emotions, not just the DTs (and thank goodness for that).. these five idiots will never move me, because they’re just hot air.. You might end up missing an incredible album like "loveless" by My Bloody Valentine that you’ve probably never even heard of, which was created with A TENTH of the technique of the DTs, and is TEN times more modern, TEN times more original, TEN times more important than anything the DTs have ever done.. Just think of how many things you could miss out on.. broaden your horizons, guys, open yourselves up.. op op, expand your minds.. ;)
