The fact that it is not always true does not mean that it is necessarily false. The fact that it is "personal," like ALL comments and all reviews, does not mean that it is "biased" or "independent"; if I wrote it, it is obvious that it's MY opinion. Your "logic" speaks for itself, Koopa, since according to this logic, practically no review would escape being biased and "independent."

I read it very well before posting it, thank you. And your remark is incorrect. The fact that a distortion sounds "raw" and "gritty" implies the presence of a sound that has at least a hint of personality; otherwise, I wouldn't have even described the type of distortion but would have simply mentioned the presence of distortions. So, nothing just for the sake of it. It seems quite logical to me.

I started out with the certainty that it was just another album from just another band, but you convinced me to at least give it a try.

Yes, but for me the great Pop is called Radio Dept. or Delgados, not this. With my somewhat colorful definitions like "MTV-sucker," I left it to the imagination why such a pop sounds bland, just like the use of the acoustic guitar isn’t bland per se, but even here I wanted to emphasize the rather bland application by Snow Patrol with a sort of metaphor... Perhaps I intentionally used somewhat "youthful" language, but I don't think I ever claimed anything "a prescindere." Maybe you should have read it a bit more carefully before commenting?

Even just for how it looks on the cover, it's a must-find.
